As a Steelers fan I don't care what Washington calls its team. I do have an issue with these corporate interests flexing their muscle when it's convenient to do so. Fed Ex willingly entered into an agreement with the Redskins in 1999 which included renaming the stadium Fed Ex Field. Nike has been selling Redskins merchandise since 2012. Pepsi has been the exclusive drink and snack provider for the Redskins since 2017. At no time, to my recollection, did any of these corporations raise a concern about the name until last year when it was politically convenient to do so.
Nailed it. 17 the Redskin fans who are pissed and heartbroken (who pay the bills) and I say that as a Cowboy / Saints fan. The Left's War on Democracy, supply & demand and the truth has hit an unprecendated high. The Nazis had a cancel culture too, does anyone else have other examples?
