We just need to pray for good health for our QBs next year. We could be in a world of hurt if Fitz goes down for the year. Then we would have a true freshman starting backed up by a walk on or two. I have seen 2 different years (2007 and 2013) where our THIRD string QB ended up starting multiple games so we better hope nothing like that happens in the Fall of 2017.

It's definitely a tough situation to be in. College football is different now though, very few teams have experienced backup QBs or QBs that have been in the program awhile. It's every postion but especially QB's its like if theyre not playing by year 2 they transfer. It doesn't alleviate our stress any with the situation but a lot of teams are in the same boat.

No, if he plays one snap he loses his redshirt. The only exception would be if he sustains an early injury where later he could apply for a medical RS. But Thompson is our backup QB by default at this point so very little chance he will be redshirting.

Bot is better than this year showed. He really wasn't done right IMHO. He played both ways as a JR and did a heck of a job. Not trying to compare DB to Bot other than it was a recruiting **** up by our Staff.
