I know that MSU fans love the idea of taking a kid from Ethel HS that no one knew about and they end up becoming a star and we win 10 games with those kids but even with Dan that wasn't the complete reality of the roster. We had guys like Fred Ross, Will Redmond, and Chris Jones that were highly ranked spread in.
I know it's not something that is likely. It's hard to find diamonds in the rough. But I dont think it has to be over. I think it's definitely way harder now because high school recruiting isn't prioritized anymore. The portal is priority. But I can definitely understand what you're saying. I guess since high school recruiting isn't prioritized, they definitely aren't gonna be looking for those diamond in the rough type guys anymore. Pretty much need to use the portal to do that. That was the good ol' days!
