Sunday Morning QB With SVS-Tough Decisions Are Coming
Yesterday was not good. There is no way around that defensively we have regressed to last year. Offensively we are a shell of what we were earlier in the year. Special Teams is just an unmitigated disaster. All around yesterday was a top 3 bad day of the Lebby era. And by the way, you can say that without wanting to fire him.
1. It is time to make the switch. I appreciate what Blake has given us, because damn he gives us everything he has, but this is the time. You have 13 days to install a game plan that Kamario can execute and gives you a chance. Ole Miss has had trouble with mobile QBs. I think making them play 11 on 11 helps you in the run game and it also can free up deep shots, where OM has been susceptible.
2. Our RBs have to give us something. Anything. I know the line is bad, but damn. We are getting nothing from Bothwell or Booth.
3. If Thompson cannot go against OM, which I think he will be able to by the way, we need AT LEAST three more pass catchers to step up. Rickey Johnson and Magee probably need to transfer out because it will not be them. Ayden needs to step up and embrace that this is the time to show up and show out.
4. Our line is shit. Complete dog shit. That is on Leach, Miller, Arnett, Friend, that other line coach we brought in, Lebby, and Kennedy. It is not on Phil Loadholt but he is not absolved of blame. He is not putting a cohesive unit out there and I still have seen no improvement from Jimothy Lewis. Hell even Reese sucked last night.
5. FOR THE LOVE OF GOD, get rid of David Turner. He has now officially wasted Trevion Williams. He has not developed Bingley-Jones in 2 years. Burroughs still cannot play more than 3 plays at a time. Go drop a bag on Bo Davis? desk in New Orleans and get this shit fixed.
6. Our LBs were ok. I actually have been really impressed with the development of Nic Mitchell. He still is not great but he flies to the football and he tends to make the play when he is near. Smith and Lockhart are going to be great for us next season if they can develop and we hold onto them.
7. Back on to things that need to go, Corey Bell, COME ON DOWN. Development is bad, technique is bad, and recruiting is bad. Hell even Kelley Jones looked bad last night.
8. It is probably time for Coleman Hutzler to go. It looked like it had gotten better but that was a mirage. We need to go out and pull a big fish.
9. Continuing with things that need to go, Cliff Odom it is your turn. Your special teams are a disaster. You have now TWICE this year had a guy commit a penalty on a FG try that ends up giving the other team a 1st down, in which they score a TD. You punted to the best damn returner in the conference in the Texas game, and last night your snapper could not even get the snap back to the holder. Ferrie did make a couple of FGs so good on him.
10. Lebby needs to give up playcalling. It is that simple. He is never going to reach his potential as a HC if he keeps obsessing over the offensive play calls and game plan.
11. Black Friday will be bad if we come out like we did last night. It is probably going to be bad anyways but Florida is not very good and should have beaten OM last night. There is a path to victory. I do believe that path involves Kamario playing and starting.
12. This does not get better without NIL and buy in. Plain and simple. You do not have to give but do not be mad when we struggle next year and then cannot get a good HC because our NIL is in such crap shape.
13. The administration has given fans EVERYTHING you have asked for: LED lights, cleaning up The Junction, better gameday ops, interlocking, a more competitive roster. It is time to do your part. Show up on Black Friday. Cheer for Mississippi State. DO NOT BOO OUR PLAYERS. I did not think I would have to say that but after perusing Twitter last night I am saying it. That is low class. Be there, be loud, but be for US. Be together.

100% this. I'll be surprised if Lebby does it, though.

I think 10 days is enough time to formulate a game plan based on what he can actually run, which is about 60% of the playbook at this point. Not bad for a freshman, but definitely limits some of the things we like to do.

Opening statement is spot on. It was bad.
1- Disagree with this one. I'm not interested in killing KT and his growth behind that line. And here is a truth. KT only was allowed 2.2 yards per carry because they have footage now. KT is averaging more sacks per passing attempt than Shapen. All that means is it's more evidence that we need an OL very badly.
2- I wish we could get that too. But brother, you keep saying it over and over. Our OL is as good as it's going to be until we hit the portal.
3- Mosley has just fallen off the map. Mosl;ey can block... Williams cant.
4- OL.. It's patch work right now and the real issue it's patch work full of 3 stars. Our fans want to believe that those stars do not matter, but they do.
5- THIS is spot on. More so, we made improvements to the D. But he needs to retire to and office and work.
6- agreed
7- Kelly. Man that kid is great in coverage but scared to death vs the run. I mean scared to death.
8- Hutzler.... I think if he had better position coaches we would have won 8 this year. But I would be ok with him replaced.
9- yeah We have the talent, we need the coaching.
10- Disagree here.
11- Not looking forward to that.
12- 1000000% It does not. Football is won or lost on the OL and DL/front 7
13- Our fans cut off their noses in spite of their face. we are our worst enemy.
-
The administration dont give a rats ass about the fans. Fans are asked to give money they don?t have so players can make IG posts like they are 13 after games and still turn the ball over. I agree with some of it but not that. The barn needs to be torched. Im afraid as long as Keenum is around the nepotism and laziness will be allowed. This all goes back to the 6 month, maybe a year period where he would not hire an AD then our coach died.
-
Last night was a shit show. We looked like last year's team.
I am 100% on the KT train. He needs to start vs OM. Blake has done his duty, and God bless him, but it's time to take the training wheels off Kamario.
We need Kamario to start and play his ass off Black Friday. Beating OM with him gets some pressure off Lebby and sets up next year.
Lebby needs to fire some coaches. Hutz needs to go. There will be two or three good DCs on the market soon. We need to be on them like Filipino hookers.
And yes, Lebby needs an OC.
-
I think Lebby is skating on thin ice. I?m in between what I think the problems are. It?s looks like the problem is different every week. Sometimes it looks like money. Other times is looks like coaching. The reality is, it?s a little bit of both.
Lebby is improving as a coach, but still making some idiotic decisions. Money is an issue. The thing is, the baseball funding isn?t pulling from football (at least I don?t think). We expect to win in baseball, so we fund it. We do not expect to win in football, so we don?t fund it. Everyone WANTS to win, but the attitude is, ?Who cares? We have always sucked anyways.?
That?s why we are losers. Ole Miss was our b!*** and it really was our state while Dan was here (and even Morehead tbh). They came out of a crap situation and made it better. We have to do the same. We can, but I don?t know that we will.
-
What?s our NIL?? We need to sink $15mm in the DL/OL, and another $15mm for everyone else. What say you?

That would be a great start.

Fluff and Booth can't hand it to themselves. Coaching and/or selfish QB play is the issue. Shapen thinks he's freaking Lamar Jackson

He has had all year. What makes you think he can do it in 2 weeks. How about spend more time getting the OLines shi^ together.
-
It?s widely rumored that we spent in the $15 million range for this roster. Which seems great but when you consider where you started at to where you are currently we needed to spend closer to $25 million. The lack of depth when guys like Reese and Issac Smith are out really shows. It?s a massive drop off in talent. And the issue is we have a few quality SEC starters but for the most part, especially on the lines of scrimmage, the guys we?re depending on would be depth pieces at best everywhere else in the conference. Lebby compounds the problem with bone headed coaching decisions and last night is what you get. Bottom line is with this roster we have to damn near be perfect to win and Lebby does a poor job of coaching perfect.

So in our first year of really going for players with NIL we spent 50% to 65% less than most in the SEC. Tx spent 35 million. James Franklin has requested 30 Million plus to take a coaching job and Arkansas claims to have it now. Doesn't mean that they will get franklin, but it does mean they are about to go all out. Ga Tech spent millions on 1 OT. Texas Tech spent millions on 1 OT.
We are about to get left in the dust while we all focus on the wrong things... The back up, the staff, the HC.

Can you please provide evidence where these teams are paying this much money for players?

I agree with most of this. However it's too early to want to rid ourselves of Ricky Johnson and Sanfrisco Magee. They are true freshmen lol.

I don’t know why people continue to misinterpret the booing over the years. It’s primarily directed at the coaching and decision making by the coaches.

Lmao.... it's crazy. It's guaranteed if KT had gained positive yards Shapen comes in and says, watch this, it's my turn! It blows my mind

This^^^^^. I may dig out a player for doing something dumb like # 77 did multiple times last night. But if I boo it is Against The head coach. However?? now that the players are paid professionals and many just mercenaries looking for the best payday, I don?t mind others booing them.
