I think the freshman if he took over now would be better than Shapen by game 10. Shapen has a big part in this lost, and if he isn't elevating us, why is he a better option? Take the lumps this season, not next

Yeah. Because QB's "taking lumps" has worked so well for us in the past. I remember when we did that with Dak- oh wait no we didn't.

KT can't read a defense period. Not as well as Shapen at this point. Shapen gives us a much better chance to win. Yes, Shapen's pocket awareness sucks. His offensive line also sucked tonight. His receivers and tight ends sucked too for the most part. His pick six was because of a TE who ****s up majorly at least once every game tipped the pass he should have caught.

Right now KT is Mike Wright with actual upside and without that stupid hat he used to wear.

We have far too many penalties, and back breaking ones at that, but Shapen is not going to get us 6 unless he elevates his game to a level we have never seen from him. He is what he is at this point, a game manager. He would be the perfect QB for the 2015 Bama team, but he is not for the 2025 Mississippi State team.

And I am not trying to come down on Shapen. I said earlier he is the better QB right now. But play the potential. You are not making the playoffs and you are going to win 5 no matter what. Play Shapen next week at A&M and let him have his swan song and then make the switch in the bye week.

Shapen is not perfect, but the dude throws a great deep ball, and we ran the ball tonight vs a much more talented defense that we have faced this year. We should have won this game! KT wouldn't have done worse. Shapen spotted them 14 points and couldn't make the plays he wanted with his feet. Shapen isn't throwing anyone open and is only throwing to wide open guys. Lebby does a fabulous jobs of putting defenses into a crisis and man coverage. I honestly think KT would produce similar results with this scheme.

So when a team blows coverage he has the wherewithal to take advantage of the mistake. Congrats. He is a FBS QB. No one is saying that RIGHT NOW Shapen is not the better QB. But if you are going to win 5 anyways, you are not going to the playoffs, and you have what most believe to be the QB of the future right there you take your lumps and play him. He is going to make some mistakes? Yep. Is he going to be perfect? Nope. But he will not take away anything from the offense and he gives you a legit dual threat guy.

doesn't make sense with where we are. We HAVE to get to a bowl this year after starting 4-0. We HAVE to be competitive in all our games and put points on the board so we can get back in the portal and recruiting game. Putting KT in there to "learn" as a true freshman doesn't get it done.
