Of course people want to be in vs. not be in. I am saying I prefer a smaller playoff even if we have a worse chance of making it. Expanding it waters down the product, just as expanding the NCAA field would.
Does it though? The 14 vs. 19 game is going to be better than almost any "bowl game" even if it's really unlikely that either team will go on to win the championship, because both teams would have full rosters who desperately want to win.
