Ask yourself, how many can you do at one time anyway. There is always tomorrow night.

no doubt about this.

It seems overall too the younger generation has turned more to weed and micro dosing shrooms for relaxation as opposed to going out and getting drunk all the time, but for athletes I think getting to the next level is their main focus and they limit the partying compared to just the traditional college kid or frat boy

For most of the serious ones getting into the pros is the priority.
I know an All American pitcher who recently played college baseball. He said his favorite part of being the ace is that he could pitch on Friday night and go to the bar to get drunk on Friday and Saturday night because he knew he wasn?t playing again that weekend.
To most college baseball players, baseball takes a backseat to girls and partying.

From what I hear TA and Rowdey had a lot of fun in college. People acting like 19-20 yr olds are all business in college are clueless

From what I understand they were acting like college kids in 13 instead of focusing and winning the damn thing

He wasn't an All American but Konnor Pilkington did exactly that. He would be a recluse from Sunday-Thursday but Friday nights you could find him at Drifters if we were playing at home.

I'm a little less bullish on Ford than I am Becker. Ford may very well end up at TN. I think we get Becker though.

Very hopeful we get Becker- huge position of need for us.
But I do have to echo some concern that our only portal pulls so far are Va players following their coach.

That's definitely a concern and once I voiced before we even hired O'Connor that his portal record wasn't great. He has a much better NIL situation now and so there's no excuse why we shouldn't be in on some of the top portal names.

Do we even know of any non-UVA players we are going after?

UVA's portal work has been from the Mid-Majors in their region. You see VCU, Georgetown, Penn, and Seton Hall guys. They are not snagging Clemson, Georgia Tech, and UNC talent. They don't have JC guys.
But looking at their team, the High School recruiting has been very productive. All the dudes transferring to MSU and the others MSU would like to have in 2026, are UVA High School recruits. BOC has been going to Regionals and Omaha with his own players.
MSU had Highfill, Hines, and Chance as the only HS recruits playing everyday. With Powell taking the Catcher job, only two players. Next year, probably only Chance will be a High School recruit playing the field. MSU does not have SEC or ACC transfers (until now). The 2025 MSU portal kids were Mid-Majors - Campbell, Cincinnati, North Alabama, Houston, Citadel, Indiana State, and Carolina Upstate.

Man, Lemonis.

Lemon did well in the portal for the most part. Other coaches are remaining portal heavy as well. But doing that hurts if you aren’t signing some legit dudes out of HS to go with it

Not worried a bit, better to have 3 or 4 players he coached coming with him rather than them not coming. Plus he knows their ability, BOC is a proven winner and I can’t see any concerns right now. I bet he will get some other player. Not only is it better getting his player it helps with team chemistry cause they all no each other.

Well what you are missing is that the staff surely had info on players around the country already before the season ended. Then they had the week off while we were playing in a Regional to spend time doing evals because they didn’t make one. And then now this week so far to work the portal as well. Other schools are pulling in portals right and left. Auburn has 5 and just stopped playing Sunday.
