Well a lot of them wanted him to fire Lemonis 3 months into the job, then they got mad at him for hiring his "friend"(who by the way he had only known for a year) in Lebby, then got mad at him because he didn't fire Lemonis after we were eliminated from a Regional, and finally got mad at him because HE didn't fire Hutzler(although no AD has fired a DC. EVER).
All the while he was raising nearly 20 million in donations, securing the funds for a IPF, getting our boosters organized into what sports they were going to support, bringing us up to date from an NIL perspective, and working to undo all of Cohen's 5 years of F ups, of which there were more than anyone will ever know. Oh and not for nothing, he literally had to hire basically a brand new brain trust for his inner circle because Cohen surrounded himself with a bunch of Poor Oles that thought like he and Templeton. Like I've said before, we had MULTIPLE people making 6 figure salaries that didn't have a basic understanding of the job they were being paid to do.

Damn Keenum was bad last night. For being a politician, he looked completely unprepared and it felt like he was just talking to get applause(such as mentioning OM every 15 seconds and mentioning Parker staying)

I was there. And you're right it was incredible. I will say that when the news of his salary broke that was all people were talking about, however. No wonder we got him.

The thing is if you're going to fire Lemonis you have to make sure you hire someone better. Which we did. It wouldn't have made sense to fire Lemonis and then hire someone risky like an up and comer or assistant that may have had many of the same issues as Lemonis. And to do that we were going to have to pay.

Sometimes I really don't get MSU fans. I mean do State people think we were going to steal a sitting proven, stud coach from another power conference school and not have him at the top of the baseball pay scale? I agree 2.9 mil is even higher than I thought we would go but you do what you got to do if you want to win bad enough.

which fans do you speaketh of?

Cooterpoot and the like. The other board probably has more naysayers on the salary being paid than this one.

Yeah. I thought it was kind of funny when we fired Lemonis and many of them were like "hire Elander now!" I was like what?
No way we fire Lemonis and hire someone who basically has more question marks than Lemonis.
