You're right. There's nothing wrong with it. However, our fans said for two years that we were boring to watch and they hated watching us because we couldn't score. Now we can score and they say we're awful to watch because the defense isn't as good.

They did the same thing with football. Mullen was boring to watch because all we did was run. Then Leach was boring to watch because we didn't throw deep. Now Lebby is bad to watch because we throw and throw deep but we need to run it more.

And guess what, baseball is the same thing. 2022 they were miserable because our pitching sucked. Now it's our hitting sucks.

Maybe our fans just love to bitch and can't be happy.

We have a number of fans that take a balance sheet perspective with our sports performance, i.e., a snapshot in time. It's more emotional than analytical. A more rational fan looks for patterns of performance over a longer duration.

The problem is that number is the loud minority (i.e. burner X accounts, fans accounts, etc). They are far too reactionary and get all these old heads who don't know how to use social media fired up and start tweeting the same thing. So it's the only thing you ever see.

Our fanbase as a whole is a tad too reactionary. I know I've been guilty of it as well at times. Heck I wanted to fire Lemonis after 2022 and I wanted to fire Leach after 3 games.

We've ALL been guilty of that at times. We're human and we have a lifelong investment in this university. We all want to strut amongst the best roosters at least every once in a while. Didn't help that any when we got one in 2021. Now we want MORE.

This is the "problem" Jans is creating and the same "problem" Mullen created. We've tasted a bit of success aka making the tournament the past 2 years, or for Mullen, it was winning 6-8 games consistently. And now we want to see the program take the next step beyond just making the tournament. Making the tournament is great (especially with our short basketball history), but this team has the tools to make it beyond round 1 so it would definitely be disappointing if we got bounced immediately.

Lolz. It doesn?t even require watching when you are down 27-53 at half. It?s very obvious the bed crapping team was who traveled to Tuscaloosa. 111-73 ass whooping because we won?t defend the 3 and are lazy. Such a satisfying game to watch, right?

You realize you are talking about MSU sports? We always seem primed to come up short. Just a little consistency would go a long way. No one is expecting bama results in football or Duke results in basketball. So if we complain we can?t watch now? Y?all are so damn sensitive.

So can?t complain on a sports message board or on social media because old farts don?t know how to use X? Ha do what? Are you a socialist?

Next you?ll say I can?t be happy if we win because I complained one time.

Excuse us for wanting to continue building on the success we have had and not just being thrilled with an invitation to a tournament. I do understand the tournament resets everyone?s record. But it?s not going to reset this basketball teams inconsistency.

You must be thrilled with tanking after the NC while SEVERAL other SEC programs have passed us relatively overnight or at a minimum caught up.

I'll just take the comments of mine you responded to. First off, yes I realize it's Mississippi State sports. I've supported the program financially and with my attendance for the better part of three decades. We play in the toughest league in all of sports. If you wanted consistency, you're supporting the wrong program. It's tough to win in this league in anything. Ask Auburn. They've been trying to be consistent for the better part of 5 decades in every sport and still haven't found it. If we were in the ACC or Big 12 then consistency would be a little easier.

Now to the second, I don't really give a rats ass if you complain or not. I think complaining and calling people out from a burner Twitter account is the softest thing in the world though. I mean we have burner accounts that personally attack players and nothing can be done because they hide behind some stupid ass twitter name like Allyn McKeen or Jeff Lebby's burner. Hell earlier this year we had a certain group of "fans" tweeting every day at Zac Selmon that they were going to pull funding if he didn't fire Coleman Hutlzer. Do you know how 17 stupid they looked?? Spoiler: real 17 stupid. They looked like a bunch of LOSERS. Which they are. This also just makes us look bad. When you get on social media and the only thing people see is Mississippi State fans constantly bitching about midweek games in February or getting beat on the road against a top 4 team and acting like we lost to Prarie View, it looks terrible. I mean we got people like you that constantly run down Jans acting like we could do so much better. Guess what!!! We can't. We're lucky we could get Jans. Had it not been for his incident at Bowling Green, our coach would be Matt McMahon, and he's doing just a bang up job at LSU.

At the end of the day, we all want what's best for Mississippi State. But sometimes what's best, is not putting your immediate after loss thoughts on social media for the world to see. Sometimes, it's letting the people who make the decisions, make those decisions. Sometimes, it's just enjoying the damn ride.
