Ayden has been in the boat since before he entered the portal, "ALLEDGEDLY". Because we would never tamper with a kid before he was in the portal.
Evans is the one the GIF from Steve is about I believe. Obviously could be Ayden just going ahead and committing, but I believe he wants to do the recruiting photoshoot so he can get a graphic out. I also know the staff is very confident with Evans committing.
