Wasn't a rumor. Jake slid in to the 3rd Sunday of SBW 17 against UK, ball was overthrown and he scored. He got too excited, came in the dugout, punched a wall, and broke something in his hand. Cannizarro and Rooker almost strangled him in the dugout. It was stupid when he did and it was stupid if Van Buren did it as well. However, I do agree on it not being selfish. I don't think the kid went to the bench and was like "F this. We suck and I'm going to break my hand on this bench". Was it immature? Yes. Do I want a guy who is supposed to be the face of my program going forward doing something stupid that could take him out of the next game? Absolutely not. But do I think he did it intentionally and with malice? No.
