I don't follow baseball a ton, but I've always said we seem to care more about attendance than actually being elite on the field. It's come up in my circle of friends (granted mostly just football and basketball people) on several occasions over the years. It's always been a little odd to us.
I thought when we won a national championship that caring about attendance records were over since we had a national championship to hang our hats on.....I was wrong.
