The portal has to be elite if everybody goes that's rumored to be going.
Hines regression is concerning.
I know he leaves but he probably shouldn?t.

I saw Landon Harmon last week as well. He should be really good. The Parker twins are going to be good players as well. I know Maddox Miller very well, because his dad is a good friend of mine going back a long time to our connections in Mississippi baseball and the Indy league days. My son played on some of Matts showcase teams from time to time.

Numbers game more than anything, is my guess. Long is a really good player and has a lot of heart. We have so many rhp and more coming and looking to the portal for help is well, the numbers just didn't work out and he's getting scholarship money at usm whereas with us it be pwo. jmo based on what i've heard.

The same thing with Alabama's 1st baseman (Hodo). He's from Waynesboro. Never offered by us. Lead them in homerun's this year.

SVS-it?s like I?ve told you before. This coaching staff loves spin rate, velo for pitchers and exit velo and launch points for hitters. They?ll see a lot of guys in showcases but not in the HS season. If they would watch the HS season-they would?ve tried to pick up the Trimble kid and Moinstere kid at NWR over KK Clark and Loftin. Same could be said for the Nikko kid that was at MRA and now at USM

Loftin I never minded because at least you knew there was substance there with the MLB being on him. He turned down a lot of MLB money to come here. Never got Clark, always felt like they did that as a favor to Kellum.

No offense to Will Hodo because i've know the kid since he was 8, but Amani Larry has better stats than hodo and hodo can only dh(he's a big liability on defense) and he can't run a lick. My son grew up playing with and against him and the only reason bama took him(pwo)was as a favor to a booster. He's turned into an ok sec player for them, but nothing special. 15 career hrs in 3 years and a 270 hitter with no speed.

Yeah Loftin has first round talent but can't stay on the field. As you said he turned down a bunch of money to come to State. Monistere would've been a good pickup but we had mershon and then cupp coming in.

Loses more staying. He's still probably in the first 10 rounds. He's not going to improve staying here

Correct. It'd be a Mangum situation where they might draft him in the 3rd or 4th round but they'd pay him pennies on the dollar for a signing bonus

I'm guessing it would take a 5 or 6 year stretch of seasons like '22 and '23 with no change in sight before people would start dropping out.
There are AT LEAST a thousand people that would step up and take an outfield spot if someone drops. That's a minimum number. Shit- I bet I know 25 personally that would. The atmosphere is not going away

I don't know much about high school baseball recruiting so someone feel free to correct, but I would guess with limited man power on staff (say compared to football) you've got to focus your resources to narrow down your targets and its way easier to do that via showcases than trying to scout highschool games across the state much less across the country. Now if other coaching staffs are highly successful in scouting high school games and our staff is just lazy or bad at it then shame on them. Again I'm just guessing here based on logistics.

Totally agree.

All I hear in no particular order, are:
1.exit velo
2. 60 speed
3. Throwing Velo
4. Attitude/demeanor

Draft year pressure is a real thing. So it hurts. Some thrive on it.....

We’ve had a few. When a player thinks they don’t have to work and they can’t be coached or want listen it creates clubhouse issues.

Yep, some thrive and some can't handle it as well.

Larry didn't hit 11 HR's this year nor hit .270 so that comparison is not very good Commerce but I do get your point.
