I get what you're saying but we have had 2 bad outings against teams not very good. Texas Tech is beating Jackson State 99-50 right now, we struggled with them, then came out and looked bad against Nicholls.Quote:

Great to get a win, 11-0 feels good. Winning feels better than losing. When our offense is attacking, it is fun to watch. Our half court offense is tough to watch. You have to think we start hitting these wide open shots eventually.
I really think the biggest issue on our threes is our launch angle. DJ shot 2 or 3 today that barely got over the rim. He is not Kobe Bryant. He may want to put just a little arch on those.

Teams have to learn to play close games like today. It wasn't pretty but it was still a win, and that's all that will matter to the committee come March.
Just not sure what we were thinking. Nichols was down 4 with 5 seconds left having to drive the length of the court. About the only chance they had was for us to foul them quickly and of course that's what we decided to do for some crazy reason. But a win is a win and I am more than happy to be 11-0. Our conference schedule is heavily front loaded with a tough TCU game thrown in. We may lose some games badly. But if we can get through January with no more than 6 losses we will be in pretty good shape for the rest of the schedule. Tolu just looked lazy shooting the ball today. He left a LOT of points on the floor today simply by putting up lazy lay up attempts instead of just going up strong. He needed to be more aggressive. He missed a lot of pretty easy chances today.Quote:

Our outside shooting really concerns me. Most of the teams in the SEC I think we can feed Tolu down low and win. However, they will double down on him and force us to make longer shots. It?s a Q2 nonconference opportunity before we start an absolute gauntlet where we?ll be lucky to win 4 games in January. If we go into February with 16 wins I feel pretty confident we?ll make the tournament, anything less and we?re gonna have work to do in the SEC tournament in my opinion.
And I agree with 34, we?re ahead of schedule and had no prognostication of sniffing the tournament so all of this talk of regression isn?t negativity it?s just what people thought we would be. They just didn?t think we?d have a 11-0 cushion to play with.

I can tell you guys from experience, the last two games we looked to have tired legs, 4 games in 9 days plays on basketball players. I read where Jans said the same thing. It affects your shooting as well, and yes we have been inconsistent in shooting, but we had showed some improvement till the Jsu game.
