Glad we won but that was possibly the worst played last 5 seconds of a basketball game I've ever seen by a team leading by more than one possession.

Only state fans would complain after going 11-0 after the last decade of hoops we've endured

I get what you're saying but we have had 2 bad outings against teams not very good. Texas Tech is beating Jackson State 99-50 right now, we struggled with them, then came out and looked bad against Nicholls.
We have alot to be concerned about on the offensive end. Our best perimeter guy is Shak and he struggles with his shot some, but I'll take him over the other guys on the perimeter. We have one more game before Bama and it's against a good Drake team who are 8-2. I'd love to see a good showing before heading into conference play

Well prior to this year we would probably not have had any time outs left in the last 10 minutes of this game, and probably lost the game in the last 4 minutes. 11-0 and ranked 17th ain't too bad.

Yea but we are what we are. Did you expect this group to be 11-0?

Free throws won it for today. We were very sloppy, we looked like a Tired team today. Turnovers were bad with 18.
We also didn't play our best defense today.
Glad we won and being 11-0, I'm sure none of us expected.

A lot of folks are still into football right now including bowl games and NFL games

Great to get a win, 11-0 feels good. Winning feels better than losing. When our offense is attacking, it is fun to watch. Our half court offense is tough to watch. You have to think we start hitting these wide open shots eventually.
I really think the biggest issue on our threes is our launch angle. DJ shot 2 or 3 today that barely got over the rim. He is not Kobe Bryant. He may want to put just a little arch on those.

We have the worst basketball fanbase in the entire country.
We are undefeated and will likely be in the top on Monday and fans refuse to attend games.
Teams have to learn to play close games like today. It wasn't pretty but it was still a win, and that's all that will matter to the committee come March.

Just not sure what we were thinking. Nichols was down 4 with 5 seconds left having to drive the length of the court. About the only chance they had was for us to foul them quickly and of course that's what we decided to do for some crazy reason. But a win is a win and I am more than happy to be 11-0. SEC play is going to be a struggle though I'm afraid.

Sec play was always going to be a struggle. Lots of good teams.

If we go 500 in the league we've already got the non conference wins to get us in. That's what we've always lacked. We will go through hot and cold streaks. It's a long season. Everyone knows we are offensively challenged

Absolutely it was. That wasn't meant as a response to your comment.

No one is expressing dissatisfaction with all eleven games or our record. We are expressing concern about the deficiencies we are seeing, especially in the last two outings against competition far weaker than what we will see in conference play. Observing and commenting about that is not complaining.

Our conference schedule is heavily front loaded with a tough TCU game thrown in. We may lose some games badly. But if we can get through January with no more than 6 losses we will be in pretty good shape for the rest of the schedule. Our defense may get us a big upset if we can get hit a few more shots than normal. We missed Shak today because of his experience, driving, and defense but I don't think he is going to get much better shooting from the perimeter. We need Davis or Reed to start hitting more 3s. DJ didn't play well today but he had a couple of damn good highlights. We need to beat Drake and hopefully the Hump will be packed for Bama. Hopefully our fans don't abandon ship if Bama beats us badly because it could happen. We could also beat Bama because we have a good basketball team.

I'm starting to think school administrators, athletic departments and coaching staffs seed message boards with folks they pay to aggressively pump sunshine.

Need to win 1 of these next 3. Drake-Bama-Tenn. That's tough.

We are going to lose plenty of games because our offense is weak but we have put ourselves in an incredible position to have an opportunity at the big dance year 1 even if we lose to drake on the road.

And I'm not even complaining about our deficiencies. We all knew coming into the season we were short on scorers and we were not able to do much of anything to fix the situation through the portal. I was just complaining about our last 5 seconds of stupidity today.

Yes those last few seconds were all mental mistakes. Only good thing beside winning is you take those last say 10 seconds and go over with team in film session and learn from it.
