Well that could explain it. When parents get involved, it almost never ends well if there are dollars involved. I watched a kid down this way turn down real money from the MLB to go play Juco ball because his dad was "insulted" by the low offer and that his kid would get more the following year. Spoiler alert - he didn't, and he got shelled in Juco, didn't get drafted at all and got hurt his sophomore year and was done.

Now, he didn't turn down 7 figures or anything, but he turned down solid money and a college guarantee. All because dad was pissed off.

It can be a myriad of things. It could be no motor, it could be got recruited over, could be injury. Sometimes they just need a reset and they'll pop and sometimes they just aren't all that good. You hope it's the former and not the latter. I mean Trey Amos at OM is a good example. He was really good at ULL, transfers to Bama and is buried on the depth chart, transfers to OM and is going to be a 1st round pick.

Well that's true but you don't want to end up where you are taking guys like Raydar or Khamauri Rodgers who have no hope to give you anything and are just taking up roster spots. There has to be some potential for pop there. Otherwise they are just taking the spot of someone else who could provide you something. We had about 20 guys on our defensive roster doing that this year

Turner is not doing much evaluating this cycle. It's basically Coleman and Barnes. Take that info how you will.

Yes. I mean you better believe we're tampering with Tennessee and Texas guys, especially with Jason Washington's ties to Texas.

I mean it can only help us for Jalen Smith to be talking to some of those TN guys, "Yea Mississippi State gave me a hell of an offer."
