What's the deal with Bulovas? On 247 shows him only 7/14 on FGs with a long of 38 yds this year. Not very impressive stats for someone we were after so hard. Heck, Day shows 12/16 (looks like 2015&2016 combined on Kohls) on FGs although I don't know how far most of them were.

Maybe so but those ingredients are going to need to bake a while. Don't think we can count on a guy with those stats coming in and kicking in the SEC this Fall if he doesn't show up until August. May have been the solution long term but not don't believe he would have been the solution for this Fall.

MaxPreps stats are only as accurate as the coach is that puts them in. They're not reliable for that reason alone. If the coach/designated parent isn't on the ball with it they're useless as an evaluation tool.

If we close as rumored/speculated it will be Dan's best class since he has been at MSU. Especially if you look at individual evaluations because IMO Austin Williams, Josh Cooper (assuming commitment), Cordavien Suggs, Josh Jackson, Landon Guidry, and Tyler Williams are all underrated by the services. Not to mention Keytaeon and Kylin Hill as well if you take into account that those are two players who are National All-Star caliber.

If we do indeed close well, the next step for Dan is to do what John Cohen called "stacking classes" back to back to back etc. like this one and hopefully better. I don't want to see good 2015 class, lots of misses in 2016 class. I'm pretty optimistic (cautiously) that he will indeed do that.

I think that the guy we just got a commitment from- Quatrivious Johnson from Greenwood- is more than likely out LT of the future. I think Hogan is more than likely a guard or a DE. Really too soon to know right now. The thing that people need to really know about him is he is good friends with Jerrion Ealy who is a five star RB from Jackson Prep in the 2019 class. I think that the guy we just got a commitment from- Quatrivious Johnson from Greenwood- is more than likely out LT of the future. I think Hogan is more than likely a guard or a DE. Really too soon to know right now. The thing that people need to really know about him is he is good friends with Jerrion Ealy who is a five star RB from Jackson Prep in the 2019 class. Maybe. I haven't seen video of Quatrivious yet, so I don't know how flexible he looks or how quick his feet are. To me, Nik Hogan is exactly the type of player that a coach like Kirk Ferentz takes and makes into an All American offensive lineman. In watching him play, I believe he potentially has left tackle feet and flexibility. There is a lot of evaluation to do on all these kids though.

It's definitely a tough situation to be in. College football is different now though, very few teams have experienced backup QBs or QBs that have been in the program awhile. It's every postion but especially QB's its like if theyre not playing by year 2 they transfer. It doesn't alleviate our stress any with the situation but a lot of teams are in the same boat.
