Chipper Jones and John Smoltz are outspoken conservatives like Schilling and got in on the first ballot. The idea that the baseball hall of fame voters are some kind of liberal mob who value politics over performance is ridiculous.
Havent seen anything nationally on Chipper or Smoltz. But I have watched Schilling on national shows talking conservatism. Please link Smoltz and Glavine on national media talking about their politics please
