Exactly, but it could happen. Am I worried about it or losing sleep over it? Hell no. Never even enters my mind because I know there is not one single thing I, or anybody, can do to prevent it. Only thing i can do is be fortunate enough not to get shot, and return fire if I'm able to.
The real reason for the metal detectors is the safety of the game officials , and to a lesser degree the players. That is all. Not for the crowd. They know they can't protect 65,000 people wandering around a campus as large as ours.
Ever been to the Grove? You could literally be Stevie Wonder and open fire and hit somebody with every shot. 50,000 people crammed into basically my backyard. They gonna put detectors up in the grove? Hell no.
Nothing I can do about it but bitch, but it's a stupid ,unnecessary rule. Like most are
Not only did Mississippi State embarrass LSU on this night. Davis Wade Stadium wrecked Tiger Stadium in music choice, atmosphere and, most of all, volume.
When I'm 80 and deaf, it's not going to be all those Springsteen concerts or Queen at Municipal Auditorium in New Orleans on Halloween Night in 1978, it will be this game...............Glen Guilbeau--Sherveport Times

If you don't see the difference in an airplane and a football stadium, especially after 9/11, I'm not gonna waste time arguing with you.
I can't use the stadium as a weapon of mass destruction, or take all 65,000 in it to a location away from where they want to go, or hold them hostage.

Are you that dense? Or just that married to the failed argument of being inconvenienced?
It?s an event. That requires a ticket and being complicit to whatever security search they choose.
You chose. Ergo you were complicit

It is a drastically unnecessary inconvenience. It's not a failed argument just b/c many of you enjoy unnecessary inconveniences in exchange for a false sense of security.
Sure the school/ncaa/conference/law can dictate all kinds of new restrictions and security. It's their event. That in and of itself has nothing to do with it being necessary or a good idea.

The Metal Detectors is a play book controlled by the SEC Office.....
MSU and Bama have installed the detectors.... so get ready they are here to stay...
Your constitutional rights are being taken away from you, one at a time.....

The Metal detectors are a SEC mandate.. if we want to remain a member of the SEC, we have to have metal detectors... we are doing it a year early to get the kinks out... go to a Memphis Grizzlies or Tennessee Titans game, you have to go thru a metal detector.
