No disagreement there. However, I would love to see what Davis Wade would be like if undefeated Mississippi State played undefeated Alabama. It might be the biggest game in Mississippi college football history.

yep- unfortunately for us 1999, 2010, 2014, and now 2018 have all been in T-Town

ATH- Dear- RS Sr
TE- Farrod- Sr
TE- Austin Williams?- So
TE- Cumbest- RS Fr
That's a lot of firepower and our receivers will be a strength.
LT- Eiland Jr
LG- Reese Jr
C- Story? Sr
RG- Daryl Williams/Champion- Sr
RT- Dolla Bill/Phillips- RS Fr/Sr
Not a bad group. I think Dolla Bill is going to be special which is why I have him starting. If not, it will probably be a senior. Too soon to know, but it should be a veteran group even though losing Jenkins will hurt.
DE- Rivers (NFL?) or Adams- Sr.
DE- Kobe Jones- Jr.
DT- Lovett- So. (I'm assuming Simmons goes pro)
DT- Charles Moore- Fr.
OLB- Spencer- Sr
MLB- Leo- Sr
MLB- Thompson- Jr
OLB- Gay- Jr
Pretty good group in the front seven and I'm not exactly sure where some guys like Crumedy, Aaron Odom, Devon Robinson, Josh Jackson and Jett Johnson will quite fit in yet but I think all will play and possibly start by 2019.
CB- Dantzler- Jr
CB- Tyler Williams- So (maybe Brian Cole Sr?)
S- Marcus Murphy?- So Or maybe he plays CB for us?
S- Landon Guidry?- So or CJ Morgan Walker Jr?
Definitely some question marks here, but some pretty good talent. Dantzler looks really good. I don't where we will play Murphy yet- but I'm sure he will play. Guidry is a freak of nature but coming off of a knee injury. Not sure where exactly Brian Cole fits in but I'm sure he would start among that group.
K- Christmann- Jr
P- Day- Jr
KR/PR- Thomas and Mixon- Sr
Should be one of the better special teams units in the SEC in 2019.
I think the next two years are going to be pretty good for us.
The offense could be pretty good. Should be. The defensive front will be as weak as there is in the league. No tackles and zero depth. Secondary will be untested and no depth. Lb will be our best spot and all 4 are inside guys in a 3-4. None other than gay is really an old in a 4-3. Again no depth.

LSU has Ed O and just promoted a very uninspiring OC. With LSU schedule, this is almost certainly Ed O last year.
aTm just hit a hr for HC. Maybe they push bama and maybe they do not, but they will certainly be a 9-10 win team year-in, year-out starting in 2019. With that said, they are not a good team this year.
OM has some offensive firepower this season, but no defense. They will not be a bowl team. They will lose a lot this season too, but they will go all-in in state for the 2019 class though.
Auburn loses a bunch on oline, secondary, and RB this year. They will be back to 10 win team again in 2019 though.
Bama is bama, but they do lose a bunch on defense.
Ark will not be good this year. I am not sure how much better Morris will be than bielema, but I do think he will be better in a couple years.
This is our shot at Atlanta, and I am not sure when we will be in this position again.
I think I would ask some FSU people and get their opinion on this. He wasn't on the hot seat but the seat was getting closer. He was supposedly being required to make some major changes, if he stayed at FSU. One of those supposedly would be some assistant coach changes.

This year was really bad for jimbo... no denying that. If you throw out his best year (natty) and his worst (this year), he is 64-17 (40-12). .79 winning % is pretty dang solid, and I think throwing out worst and best gives an accurate representation of his career so far

I'm not talking about his career. I'm referring to the last several years. In other words. from all accounts, Jimbo was not the coach. that he was several years ago. I don't think some of their boosters would care about an accurate representation, but I guess we will see how the TAMU job plays out..

But just think if they can pull it off.

I was a little worried about Grantham at first but man he turned out great. I hope Shoop takes advantage of his second chance.

His prior 3 years, he was 33-7. Lost in playoffs. Lost in NY6. Won in NY6

That's why we need to hit the 2019 class hard on defense. Hopefully some of the four star guys will be able to come in and play as freshmen and have an immediate impact like Moore, Pickering, Zach Edwards, and etc. Or at least be able to rotate in and contribute.

In the front seven we?ll have
Rivers (nfl?), Autry, Adams, Jackson, Spencer, Jones, Jones, Odom, Crumedy,
Gay, Lewis, Thompson, Kilby-Lane, Washington, Dunning, and hopefully the tight end with the worst hands likes to hit people.
Have to get on all the 2019 instate D talent and get the ones that can contribute some experience.
2018 we?ll see what Moorhead and staff can do with a loaded roster and 2019 we?ll find out how they handle adversity.

The comment my Nole friend made is ?Jimbo lost his balls in the divorce.?

I'm with homedawg on '19; O should be great, but LB's will be somewhat out of position and need currently unknown backups to step up. Secondary needs currently unknown players to step up (Guidry and Walker as S starters is the definition of unproven) and we still need depth at both S and CB. DL shoud have some decent players (Rivers if he stays will probably be the best) but you have a RFr and a true Fr starting at DT.... we can technically name other people like Autry and Jones that should be competent but even then we're still lacking in both depth and star talent... and that's assuming young, unproven guys with little time in the weight room can hold up in SEC play. Hard to ask for in the trenches, and certainly isn't to be expected.
I'm not panicking of course- there's still time for unknowns to come onto the scene or JuCo guys to come into the recruiting picture. But the DL and secondary will be doing well to be mediocre, and solid LB's can only go so far to mitigate that. O should be top 3 in the conference with JoMo, but the D will probably be below average, but not nearly 2016 bad. Unless TN Shoop is the real Shoop, in which case 2018 is 17ed too.
2020 though... now THAT seems near 2018 promising, though it just seems way too early to discuss seriously
-
Going to need to go heavy JUCO on both lines in 2019, at least 2 OL and 2 DL
-
Someone needs to be in Mitchel's and Todd's ear for the next 6 months telling them they are beasts and they should play like it.
Just keep saying it until they believe they should catch every ball.
That and teach them how to block and run routes.

Yeah. Of course in the more recent even years, we've had three our 'middling' SEC opponents (Auburn, A&M, and Arkansas) and our non-UK East opponent at home. When we were just giving up our games vs Bama and LSU it helped us when we played them away, and our even year home schedules helped us win another game or two.
Notably, in 2019 we have Abilene Christian the weekend before the Egg Bowl instead of Arkansas. OM will have an SEC opponent the weekend before the 2019 Egg Bowl.
