Playing not to lose. Similar to its cousin the prevent D. Both don't often turn out like you want it to.

Sure. We're losing because the crowd isn't bigger or loud enough.*** Then how do we win on the road?

Maybe. Itd still be 11 am and itd still be Umass. But it doesnt matter. If you disrespect the game by walking your ass on the field and going through the motions you will be exposed. Sit down and shut up

Also, to those of you saying "don't blame the fans for this" I have one thing to say to you. **** off. The reason why Dan and the players wanted a crowd was because we are ranked with a sneaky good UMass team coming in. Dan legitimately didn't look happy at the crowd size when he ran out of the tunnel. The players feed off the crowd and when there isn't a crowd to feed off of, you're gonna struggle. I don't care what kind of team you are. It gets you a LOT more hyped up and inspired when you have a big crowd behind you.
Now does the blame solely lie on the fans? No. The players and coaching staff burden some of the blame too. But get off of your pity run with the "I'm not showing up for an 11 AM non-conference game because I'm too busy doing other things." I'll tell you this, if I could have afforded to come down and watch the game in person, I would have. But I have other obligations that I have to do. Granted, I also don't buy season tickets. I come when I can because I live so far away. But I remember when we used to pack out Davis Wade no matter who we were playing and no matter what time.
So both sides stop bitching at each other and come together for this team for once. Our fanbase is our own worst enemy. And people wonder why opponents make fun of us? When your fanbase argues with each other over petty shit like this, you get the situation we are in. That's all I have to say about it, and I'll return with game updates at the end of halftime.

Well, I don’t think you can hold anyone else accountable unless you hold yourself accountable. This has been a poor showing all the way around, team and fans. I’m at the game, but I’m as dead as the rest. The big games take care of themselves. It’s ones like this where we need to do better.

He doesn?t want anyone to think he has to actually put a mental effort into winning this game. It?s all on the players according to his halftime interview, but we are coaching like we are playing a cupcake. He needs to acknowledge his offensive coaching is no better than their effort.
They are loading the box. Fitz is one heck of an athlete. But he cannot overcome with his feet what they are doing. If we don?t treat the second half like this is a conference game, we will struggle to win.

Do you think the crowd might be more fired up if the team looked like they gave a shit? It works both ways.
