I don't feel starting the thread was stupid. I wanted to show that ole miss fans were acting like idiots as usual, and I wanted some pushback to let other vendors know it goes both ways. You cave to one school, you're gonna piss the other off. I feel like supporting Steve against their childish antics is warranted.
Edit: Not directed at you, just explaining to the board my reasoning.

Here is another way of looking at it. If the wanted a signed book now they are going somewhere else to buy that book.

Reed's is an awesome store with great shirts and always has some smoke pieces working there (at least when I went in). Don't boycott Reed's boycott the Clarion Ledger instead. Oh and Oxford. Never ever spend a dime in Oxford. If you go to a game in Oxford never ever spend a dime in Oxford. Pack a lunch and buy gas outside the town. Have a great day Bulldogs. Eat shit shitbirds.

If I owned Reed's and that bunch of crazies called and said they were boycotting if we didn't cancel the book signing I would have replied "We don't negotiate with terrorists".

Reed's is owned by Vanderbilt graduates in a 50/50 State/Ole Miss town. They sell State and Ole Miss gear.
Plus, they do a ton of good in the community. You want to show them what State fans are like? Instead of acting like Spirit posters, go buy their State stuff and show them who is more valuable. Overcome evil with good.

I am glad you pointed this out. CL is what we should be against. Reeds is a business trying to make the right decision for all their customers. Steve's book is a polarizing and the decision to host a signing wasn't the best way to keep your store neutral. When they caved, they have now angered our fanbase. The lesson to learn, if you cannot back up the decision to host the signing, don't bring your business into that situation to begin with.
I will not boycott Reeds, even though I believe actions have consequences and it is justified. Reeds is doing the best thing they could given the crazy UM fans pressure.
Um only successfully brought us into their hatred and spitefulness. Although my initial snowflake self thought a boycott was the obvious choice. It only hurts that business who is trying to straddle two fanbases. Trust me, I know what that is like and I thank Beastman for reminding me.

Starkville store is owned by a different guy than Tupelo. Just FYI. May want to keep them out of it.

What is Reed's anyway? Is it a bookstore that also sells tee shirts and the like, or a larger store that sells books in addition to a lot of other things?
-
If this is how they are behaving now how bad is it going to get after the sanctions come down? Some of those whack jobs are going to lose it for sure.

Wonder if they received death threats like the COI Committee did? Like Steve did?

This guy gets it

Mistake they made was having it in the first place. They should have known it was going to piss off half their customers for holding it or canceling it.
-
It's both. They have a bookstore beside their clothing store in Tupelo. Also have
stores in Columbus and Starkville. It's extremely over priced merchandise. Maybe if Beast calls them and lets them know he's going to continue doing biz w/them he'll get a 25% discount, at which point they'll still be the most over priced store in town.

Shit people are you serious, I only read the first 10 post and I'm like WTF?
Please everybody take a step back, take a deep breath.
Think about what you are doing?

That entire fanbase is one enormous cult.

The Reed's do have ownership in the Starkville store. The Columbus guy is their partner there. I would definitely boycott it. Sorry but that's my feelings and I know Jack Reed fairly well. Nice Vandy guy but this has been totally mis-handled.

Folks are we going to get on their level? Please show that we are better than Old Mississippi's tactics.
Let Reed's know we are glad their carrying the book. C'mon Dawgs, we don't lower ourselves to their level!

So, if you're in the Tupelo area, let them know you won't be buying anything from them since they caved to the snow flakes. Boycott's are dumb, but it just amazes me a company lets a bunch of weirdo's dictate how they do business.
