That would involve doing the one thing Bears are incapable of doing. Swallowing their pride. They'd rather Mars burn Oxford to total ash so people may then feel sorry for them than wave the white flag. Remember this is the same school with a 100% casualty rate in the Civil War. They take honor in completely destroying themselves to nothing left.
