Big question. Why would you take a high school power hitter over Rooker? Rooker basically has 21 home runs in AAA ball going against SEC pitching which tells you his power and hitting tools will translate well at the next level. Why wouldn't you take Rooker in the first 10 spots in the draft? Are scouts just that dumb?
I think Rooker is going to be someone that scouts look back on and wonder why they didn't take him higher. I think the disconnect is a lot of scouts see him as an outfielder and really they should look at him as a first baseman.
