And Musburger and Palmer were completely oblivious to it. Part of the blame was on a slightly earlier play where the runner chose an extra yard over getting out of bounds. A lot of players will instinctively do that, but a truly great player will stay focused enough to realize that unless it's 4th down, the extra yard or two is almost never more valuable than time on the clock.
