The little brother thing pisses me off. People sit here and wonder why we are pissed and bitching. Weve gotten whooped by ole miss in football for consecutive years. Baseball for consecutive years. Basketball for three years. And out recruited since 2012. Im sorry but when youre getting your ass kicked you arent the alpha male anymore. You think we are sitting here crying foul if we have won in football for two consecutive years? **** no.

Gonzo and Johnson bumped their visit with Farrar up to today instead of tomorrow. Looks like all or nearly all are available here tomorrow I believe.

That's some good news. I messed up and listened to the boneyard today on BSR. Rosie is one pessimistic mofo right now. Basically said we aren't expected to get any of the bigs left on the board that they are all deciding between Bama and OM. If that's the case...we are ****ed and officially being left behind.

There are definitely some bizarre things going on. I'm at a point where I'm not getting pissed about it anymore, I'm getting weirded out now.

We didn't miss on those guys (whether it be academics, injury, or otherwise)? Finding 5 or 6 walk-ons to give scholarships to is the norm for any Power 5 school every single season? Why don't you explain what I'm missing, since I'm so new to this and all.

Why are you confusing yourself? You don't magically sit at 85 scholarships for an entire year. You gradually dip below that based on how many players will be leaving at the end of the year. MSU doing that enables us to sign 23-25 new players every year. You don't just sign 14 guys to replace 14 guys. You figure out the extra 8 guys you need to process and get that accomplished in time to add 23-25 more guys. Every year you do that. Next year we will have it right around that number again. Then again. Then again.

It's really amazingly simple isn't it...

Is this guy serious?
They must not be huge busts. Since by your initial math -- they all still hold roster spots that prevent us from signing new guys in this class. 15 spots and we're full was your twice-made initial stance. But you are moving the goalposts in order to complain about something new now.
Yes -- It's absolutely common for teams to finish the season at 75-80 scholarship players prior to dealing with the draft/graduation. But I guess you think teams actually graduate 25 players every year so they can sign full classes and miraculously still manage to stay under the 85 man limit. Hence how -- if you had followed this trend for any period of time whatsoever -- you would realize we are actually prettymuch in the center of the normal range. We'll probably only have to process 2 or 3 this year. The 85 number is only applicable to anyone the second week of August. Nobody finishes the season with 85.

I have no illusions about 25 guys leaving every year to make the numbers fit. I know how the system works.
I'm also not talking about finishing with 85. I'm talking about beginning the season with 85. You counted 64 returnees (which was correct). I counted 15-16 departures (also correct). I then noted that if both of us are correct, then where did the other 5 guys go? We didn't lose them over Christmas break. All the guys you named were gone before 8/2/15 except Hammond who left in September. Shit, Arrington and Wells were gone in 2014. So, we BEGAN fall camp with roughly 80-81 able bodied guys on scholarship and lost another guy within a few months. In my opinion, you should at least start the year with 85 scholarship guys or somewhat close to it. If not, you've experienced too much attrition in at least one recruiting cycle.
To my detriment, I incorrectly assumed we were close to that number when I thought we would only have 15-16 spots available for this class. I was surprised to know how many open spots we actually had on the roster all last season because I did not recall that many guys leaving the team during the season (Hammond being the only one).
In the end, I'm also surprised at you arguing so vehemently about it because you yourself have recently mentioned the high attrition rate (specifically from the 2013 class) as being a problem, which is a point I happen to agree with. In either case, its refreshing to argue about something other than the current recruiting class, so I'll give you that. Enjoy the rest of your evening.

Doesn't look like we will be bringing in Dowdle this weekend for an OV. Reese will find out for sure about FSU tonight but it looks like he will be looking elsewhere to play. We sit really good with him.

Unreal....
We are completely incompetent. For me, Mullen is reaping what he sowed. When you whore yourself out for other jobs, it destroys your ability recruit.
This is just looking like a complete disaster of a recruiting year for our staff. Completely unacceptable in this conference.
If we do poorly next week, Mullen will lose much of the fan base that he's worked so hard to build.
There's no excuse for this. Mullen has turned to Croom

Your a bioplar guy huh? One day your on the wagon the next day you're not. Dude pick a side and stay there. From the very beginning no-one thought we had a shot at Brown, so why are you crying? The coaches recruited him regardless and actually made him consider MSU. Quit being a baby!

Dude you really need to STFU.
This isn't my fault or any other fans fault. We care, that's all.
Don't throw fire at fans. Throw it at Dan, the coaching staff, Stricklin, and Keenum. Those are the ones to blame, not me.

Shotgun I'm telling you this as a message board friend, step away for a little while. You've gotten too emotionally involved & attached. Take a break for a day or 2 off all message boards. Go do something else that you love & take your mind off recruiting. It's really consuming you right now. Just words from a message board friend.

Agree
Point remains though, MSU fans bashing MSU fans does nothing address the real issues
