I have literally never seen an MSU signing class with still so much up in the air this late, EVER, pre-Mullen or during the Mullen era. Guys, this could be anywhere from one of MSU's best classes ever to a well below average class (rankings wise). Its amazing there is still so much unknown barely over a week from signing day.

The Mods need to delete with extreme prejudice. There will be so much smoke coming from all directions, and our fans have never shown the ability to not type something that is pretty stupid. Just remember, 9 days until signing day, and I think this class does have a boom or bust feel to it, but I like our position with roughly 8 guys, and I think we only sign 10 more, so should be an interesting few days.

From what I understand it makes a lot of sense that we have a lot up in the air this year. Our position as a program is rising year by year which puts us in the hunt for guys that we previously wouldn't have had a sniff at and would already have been totally out with them. Take the lack of certainty as a positive. Simply put, we have options now.

As much as we have hanging out there on signing day, there doesn't seem to be a ton of new offers trying to get guys in this weekend. So either they feel really good about the ones left that have not committed or they just don't see needing to push for a lot of borderline players just to get to a certain number in this class.

Agree, we can all talk candidly after signing day. Right now, everyone just needs to remain positive.

I think you will see some backup plans take visits this weekend, and Im sure the board will handle that well. We only have 15 commits, and a few of those Im sure will count backwards since 5 are enrolled. We are going to commit at least 8 more. If Farrar goes to OU or Knott gets a firm offer and takes it from Bama, or if Reese either gets a spot at FSU or for some dumb reason goes to Syracuse, we have to be ready. Personally I think it is all worked out by late Sunday on most, and then we will just be waiting on 'official' news on Wednesday morning.

Boom or bust no doubt. Can be GREAT class... Simmons, Kobe, AJ, Knott, Lashley. 4 of that crew is a HR. 3 of the 5 is ehh, anything less is an epic failure. No matter what, losing AJ or Kobe(he's a Dawg) is inexcusable... As of right now my gut says 3 out of the 5.

Question... How would we feel if we only landed 2 out of the big 5?

I agree. It just doesn't feel like there is a rush to try and put a class together. I think the coaches really feel good about several uncommitted players.

Was told by a guy I work with here in Starkville that after Kobe left TTown he caught a plane down to Miami but he said he's just enjoying the process just taking his trips

I am good friends with Steve Farrar, Zach's father. Steve and I have known each other for about three years and had offices next to each other for about two. We talked about Zach's recruitment all the time, including yesterday, and again this morning for over an hour. Steve told me that Stoops and Riley will be in the house tomorrow evening. Mississippi State is coming to visit again sometime this week hoping to keep Zach from going to Norman next weekend for an official visit? Not going to happen....he's going!
Someone at OU, maybe Cale, dropped the ball in his recruitment as he rarely heard from the OU coaches during the fall, even as Zach put up terrific receiving numbers for Southlake, one of the premier high school programs here in the Dallas metroplex. I have seen Zach play, he is a exceptional athlete/wide receiver, a great baseball player, sprinter, dedicated workout guy, and a great student with outstanding test scores.
The family has always wanted Zach to go to OU!
Zach's girlfriend is going to enroll at OU next fall! The family is truly very excited to get the OU offer, even this late in the process. Sounds like Stoops/Riley can 'close the deal' tomorrow evening!!?
This doesn't sound good....

I see us getting Kobe Jones, Lashley, AJ Brown, and Nigel Knott. I think Simmons goes to Ole Miss.
