I feel for the guy. He's being pulled in every direction.... I'm pretty sure he took this stance because he wants the Bama coaches and media to get off of his back.... nice troll work though by the big man.

Yep. Our idiot fans have already begun to get on Twitter and start saying negative shit. How hard is it to understand that he probably got back to Meridian and caught hell from Bama friends, staff, fans, etc...so he did what he had to do to keep the heat off. Doesn't change his decision. Our fans just need to respect him, be confident, and kick their feet up & chill.

Yes. Unfortunately as bad as the fake state fans are at trying to undermine us, I am about to decide some of our own morons are worse. At least the plants have a logical agenda. These idiots...Smh

I was really hoping for some public commitments to get some momentum going in our recruiting. So far, we got one commitment that the recruit has completely backtracked. I know we will land some of the guys that came this weekend, but I think they could help us more by pulling the trigger now. We need momentum...

You need momentum? I am sure our staff and our recruits have all the mo they need. Yancy like Xanax and wine, I like a stiff drink and quiet mediation on the Word...you need to find something that helps you relax.

Well all I'm going to say about it is that it would actually be nice if guys that commit to us would actually take a stand and not act like they are somehow ashamed that they committed to us. That's the way it almost comes across. We have a damn good program! I mean good grief, get on the train and help us get others on the train!

Ok, thanks. Call me crazy, but I think perception matters to these kids. If we would've picked up say lashley, Davis, jones, and stallings this weekend that if would help us with aj, Simmons, couch, and knott. I could be completely wrong, but that's how I see it

That's for the public. Most of these kids talk and have a better grasp of where others stand with each school. That momentum is for the fans. Not the players.

It's not like all these kids don't talk to each other everyday though. Times are different from 10yrs ago where kids only met & talked when they seen each other in person on visits. I guarantee that Kobe, Scott, Jeffery, etc all know the real story with Raekwon & aren't depending on recruiting writers & social media.

I agree in principle, but I get what Msstate7 is saying. It would help with PR if the guys we know are signing with us would want to go public, stay public, and recruit publically on social media.

Agree.
Too add: no one should expect a commitment from any of these guys till signing day or a few days before.
Kobe & Lashley particularly have held off on committing to MSU for a year so that they could go on visits & be recruited. They didn't do all that to cave in right when they can go on visits.
I don't know if AJ has ever been as close as Kobe & Lashley to committing, but you could say the same for him. As much as he's talked about leaving Starkville, even if he signs with MSU, you can't bet he's going to travel, take visits, & milk every last drop out of this recruiting process.
Not sure on Simmons.

Oh yea perception wise yea it would. I was speaking strictly from a prospect standpoint. They know what's going on.

But if they are doing that outside of the public eye, what difference does it make?
It would potentially only make a difference with an out of state kid that was outside of that group.

Just say it. You want them to commit so that YOU feel better about it.

The Rock said it best as far as fan bases and recruiting...."It doesn't matter what you think!!" So just sit back and wait until the papers are in. And stop melting over every little thing.

I'm not melting over this. I melt over game results... See last 4 basketball game threads

I get it. This is a message board and we discuss these things. But what happens on Feb. 3 is the important part. How we get there does not matter and complaining about it is silly. If, after Signing Day, you are disappointed in the class complain away.

Couldn't complaining about others complaining about it be considered just as "silly"?**
