I agree that it seems like we've got a pretty good shot there... Just on process of elimination...

The fact that we are having to scrap and worry abt whether or not we get a starkville kid while OM locks down the Oxford kid out of the gate should be a concern to our leadership but of course it's not. That's why the Bears are beating us and are gonna keep doing it.

Meanwhile we have a commitment from Drelan Porter from South Panola.

It's the OOS guys that are giving Ole Miss such a great class.

Well absolutely. If we were reeling in the kind of OOS guys that OM is currently getting then we wouldn't all be sweating out the in state guys like we are right now.

We got Gabe Myles, Aeris Williams, Justin Cox from the area locked up early. Just like Tony Conner & Snoop Brassell didn't announce until Signing Day & Jeremy Liggins announced on the square to LSU. Just because they were able to get a legacy to commit before his 10th grade year even started & we have a couple local guys deciding to enjoy the process now we have a leadership issue? I guess.

    Justin Woodall.

To say the bears lock up Lafayette county is just a crock of shit. They normally get who they want from South Panola, but to say they cherry pick lafayette county is just full of it.

That's what made last year so great. Instead of us scratching and clawing to recruit top in state guys like Jamal Peters, Dontae Jones and Malik Dear, they were actually out recruiting for us.

True but even last year people were freaking out over Jamal Peters & LSU. Remember Jamal didn't OV on the big instate weekend with the rest of the guys & everybody just knew he was gone. Sometimes there is a plan in place that we just don't know about.

Woodall is a good guy. I used to hunt with him a few years back. He hated saban...said one of the reasons he went to bama was bc saban told him he could play baseball and football while he was being recruited. When he got on campus, saban changed his tune

Freaking out is a little over the top though there was concern. Actually last year it was relatively quiet and most folks felt very good about our recruiting efforts going into late January. There was angst over Leo Lewis for sure but that was about it.

Figured I would post this here as well:

For you star counters & class rankers (including me):

    Worst Case:
    Scott Lashley - 4*
    Kobe Jones - 4*
    Raekwon Davis - 4*
    Jamal Couch - 3*
    Lloyd Cushenberry - 3

    Class will be around 30.

    Remaining Class:
    AJ Brown - 4*
    Jeffery Simmons - 4*
    Nigel Knott - 4*

    Sign 1 of Brown/Simmons/Knott: 22-25
    Sign 2 of Brown/Simmons/Knott: 19-21
    Sign 3 of Brown/Simmons/Knott: 16-18

    Bonus:
    Desmond Fitzpatrick - 4*
    Jeremiah Moon - 4*

Goes up to 15 - we can dream.

This is all with removing Golden

the fact that he immediately scheduled a visit when he found out he had an offer says a lot to me

I agree. SEC is probably really appealing to him, esp over Neb & Indiana.

The insiders on this board say we're in good shape with brown, Simmons and knott. From reading interviews..I have no clue about knott..I hope/think we'll beat out bama for brown..and simmons seems high on us as well. It looks like OM may get Gary..so that might help us with Simmons
