Anywhere in particular that's better than the other? I know very little about the MS Coast honestly. I gamble a little, but not a huge attraction. I'd like to play some golf, eat some good food, do some fishing, and stay is a resorty type place so I can feel like I'm a high-roller on vacation. Maybe do some boating too. Any suggestions?
if you want beaches, go to Gulf Shores. MS beaches just aren't that great in general, and are worse after Katrina. not that they're terrible, but the AL and FL beaches are clearly better. if you know how to read a map it's only an hour and a half extra drive, and you can stay right on the beach unlike most MS spots. but there's enough family friendly options on the MS coast if beaches aren't your primary concern. mini golf, lazer tag, etc. the only problem with kids is there's few places where i'd want to just let the kids go for the day.
the Beau is usually a good deal for the quality of room. they expect to make their money off you on the ground floor, between gambling and food. probably not the best idea with kids though.
no need to go to Bay St Louis for food. that's ridiculous. I think Tripani's is overrated anyway. Half Shell Oyster House is right by the Beau. as good as any food on the coast, at much more reasonable prices. if you really want to impress then Mary Mahoney's is right across the street. there's also plenty of good spots in Ocean Springs.
for night life go to Ocean Springs. easy cab ride.
