Chase is on. Heading to Batesville to monitor.

Latest SPC Mesoscale Discussion: http://www.spc.noaa.gov/products/md/md2040.html
Synopsis: Factors are setting up for a strong system with low level rotation and SRH values high enough to maintain a long-track tornado. Destabilization will continue until the weak cap is broken. Once broken, hang on gentlemen.

For those of you curious of how often a PDS watch is issued? The last PDS watch was issued June 2014

Thanks Ref for all that you do when we are looking at a severe weather event. These weather threads are not for those to make jokes and say we need to get a sense of humor, etc. For those who do this, I think they have lost touch with reality, as severe weather is not something to joke about as you know. I have experienced and seen some major damage, from tornadoes, severe winds and severe hail.

These systems are moving 60-70 MPH, so you're not going to be able to outrun these storms. Once a warning is issued for your area, get to your safe place IMMEDIATELY. I don't care what you think about these warnings or your history with them. Get in there as soon as possible, and cover up. I don't want to hear of anyone getting injured or killed because they didn't heed a warning. Remember that all it takes is one tornado to cause a catastrophe.

Lots of sun breaking through outside Batesville. Wind blowing pretty strong straight out of the south.

Why can't we get 30mph storms?

Generally how accurate are the future radars as it is not showing much action in the Columbus Starkville area through like 6:45 tonight. Are we somewhat out of the major threat or is it a very volatile situation?

The HRRR is not handling this well, IMO, so I wouldn't go with the latest run of the HRRR. It truly depends on the model and the run.

The cap is a bit stronger than expected. Just waiting for the cap to break, which should be soon.

I'm about 5 miles west of Bates parked at a John Deere dealership waiting impatiently. Hoping that stuff coming across the river gets better.

Cap is breaking in my opinion. Things are going to start getting interesting. Also. new Tornado Watch for the Eastern part of the state including Jackson, Starkville, Meridian, and Hattiesburg.
