Random Asshole Theory - In American Football (especially when playing Mississippi State), RAT applies to a rarely used player that comes off the bench and plays like an All-Pro and/or Heisman Trophy winner. This player will have a record breaking performance against the opponent (i.e. MSU) and then vanish back into obscurity on the bench the rest of the season. This week's RAT - Sean White, QB Auburn.
Also regularly applied during Buryball.
