I know it's a few years away, but what do you think chances are you sign Harper? I say no way. He's gonna be a dodger, Yankee, or bosox. Think you guys end up trading him for a huge package?

I think Harper resigns. Nats have as much money as anyone and the lerner's aren't scared to spend it (unlike braves' ownership). Idea that the yanks, sawx, and Dodgers (only since magic's group took over ownership) will pay big money is ridiculous. He will hit free agency with a solid 5+ years of traditional peak age window left in them, and I can't imagine the franchise doesn't do everything they can to keep them. It won't come down to money, it'll be whether they just want to leave or not. You don't let generational talent go at 26 over money.

And yeah, Desmond screwed himself. Though I wonder if he's struggling so much because he's pressing? Nats also made a great move grabbing turner in the offseason to be the SS of the future. 2016 will probably be a stopgap SS at least initially with turner hopefully coming up later in the year and ideally taking the job and running with it.
