That article points out one of the same things his coaches always talked about his SR year in HS - leadership. The HS coaches said he was a natural born leader that players gravitated to BEFORE he was the starting QB his senior year (primarily a WR/TE his Jr year). Our QB situation is lightyears from what we have ever seen at State.

He sounds like the future. Would Staley play another position if this holds up?

Let's not put the cart before the horse. I love that Fitz is doing well, and hope he continues to progress. Hoping the same for Staley. No need to count him out at this point. He'll also be getting coached up by one Mr. Dan Mullen.

Let's see how it works out.

Dead on. Staley hasn't had the opportunity yet, and he will.

Great article on Fitzgerald but it's a long time until Sept 2016. The QB battle between Staley & Fitzgerald will be a great 1.

And there we have it from the horse's mouth himself. Glad to hear it will be an open competition, Coach.
It's the roller coaster of hope that this program keeps us on that makes it hell being a State fan. - CadaverDawg, 10/15/22

Yep, and this is really all that needs to be said. We'll find out then and probably not before, and I've never understood why fans want to pick one over the other at this point.

They both have tons of talent. Our QB come 2016 will be really good, no matter who it is.

Many still think its Staley's job to lose- the question on Staley is toughness. He is a better passer than Fitz. He is NOT tougher than Fitz
