TD Moton
What's the deal with him? I know he was committed to us for a while then backed out for Bama. Is he still committed to them? Everyone seems confident we end up with him, what's his situation

Why is Lsu not involved? Full at his position?

Moton committed to an Alabama assistant that didn't have authority to make an official offer. So they slow played him since. He has no committable offer from Bama he has found out. He may also have some qualifying issues.

That 1st part is BS- any coach that recruits has that authority.
He is simply someone that didnt develop as much as Bama had hoped- plus he does have some possible qualifying issues. That is what is making Bama back off. He attends literally the worst school in Shreveport-Bossier. The state dept is close to taking the school over.

Is Bama still trying to keep him as a backup option? Or have they told him he for sure needs to go somewhere else?
-
Bama wasnt going to drop TD but they're not going to try to hold on to him. It's best for both to move on but they visited him the day before the dead period started to set up an OV. Was he a priority recruit for them? No but he also hasn't been on the chopping blocks for months like they're trying to insinuate.

He went all Yancy on us with those emoticons. Must be a good thing.

you think Saban doesn't have final say on an offer? That's bullshit.

You think one of their coaches would make an offer without Saban ok'ing it? Those visits arent fly by the seat of your pants kind of visits. The kid was offered and committed.

The kid thought he was offered and committed. He misunderstood. He announced to the world he was committed. Bama didn't bother to clarify. It served their purpose. When it came time to solidify things he didn't have a spot.

Yeah but is he throwing the "curve ball" at us?

That's just not true. No program let's a kid commit who isn't & doesn't clarify it. We've had a few guys over the years who tried to commit or say they've committed but found out the coaches didn't take their commitment. Moton committed the coaches accepted it. Now is he dispensable now with Payne & Taylor aboard yes but let's not act like he was never wanted by Bama bc he was.

So Coach, he's a 4 star, do you see him as an immediate contributor or does he need a RS?
Also, is he best fit to play the 1 or 3 technique? Does he compare to anyone we have/had?
Thanks

He's a likely RS. The kid has talent, but the school he is coming from doesnt develop well. He looks like more of a space-eating 1 tech to me.

His potential is through the roof just needs technique. He can be as good as he wants to be just needs to keep his head down & soak up all the teaching he can get.

Haha yeah, I'm sure the Bama coaches just 'didn't bother to clarify' and let him think he was committed for months without an actual offer.
