I'm telling yall - I still think 61 is a troll that has done a masterful job of tricking us into thinking he is a righteously angry State fan. The only thing Fred did glaringly poorly is handle the ball, and that's because he doesn't have the skill set to play point guard but is forced to at this point (Ready hurt, Sword hurt, Davis transferred, and Bloodman can't play 40 minutes). When Fred is back in the 2/3 role and can focus on defense, he will do just fine.

Also, 61 didn't address his bashing of Dunlap (who led our newcomers in scoring). But it's too early to get in it with 61 on his lack of basketball knowledge - our football team is more than relevant in mid-November! I'm too hyped for this game today

If you seriously think that, either A. you didn't watch the game or B. You're one of the stupidest people on earth. We looked like a JUCO team last year dressing 7 a night. Hell, you can tell how different we are just by watching our layup lines

if we can make 3's and continue shoot that % from the free throw line, we will be much improved. We still look very sloppy at times, but if you're good at those two things it is an incredible equalizer. I'll hand it to Ray, he knows what he's working with and he looks to have trained his team accordingly. If they can't take care of the ball and physically dominate weaker teams, we damn well better be able to shoot the 3 and make everything we can get from the charity stripe.

less than stellar performance, but a W is a W.

Solid opener without Ready or Chicken imo. Chicken comes back now and we should handle the ball even better- along with getting our best slasher back. Support these guys and let's see what they can do

Ray knows what they need to improve on, he said as much in his press conference. He said that we need to work on ball control and defending the 3 much better. He also said that we need to flip our turnover and assist numbers so that we are close to a 2:1 assist-turnover ratio.

Just watch him on offense anytime he has to dribble or make a decision. It's a nonstop freak out. That's the best way I know how to describe what I see as Fred's biggest weakness. He spazzes out constantly anytime he has the ball on offense.

agree. we're a team full of 3-men and 4-men, which is my biggest complaint. We don't have a single 2 or a true power 5 on our roster IMO.

Yup. Bloodman made a couple decent feeds but we have major issues at the 1 and 2. Sword isn't a PG. Glass is but he's always hurt. So we have two guys. Bloodman and Glass in year 3. We have one player on this team. Gavin Ware. What's up with Daniels? Guy is a ghost on the court. We waited two years for that? That is disappointing. 2c

61' I usually agree with most of your post. but Roq had a nice game and will be a steady player. Fred isn't a point guard, so that is on Ray not Fred. my main gripe is that Ray still doesn't have 1 sec quality point guard, and that will negate the expanded roster . If you don't have guards you are toast. I am disappointed in Daniel, you are correct so far he is Casper like. but I do see improvement.

We've played 1 game and it was without arguably our best player. Let's at least play 5 this season before we decide whether players are bust or not

I think Ready can run the 1, but that's it. Sword has to run the 1 and 2 out of necessity. Should be a 3/role player but he has to be our playmaker instead.

Ware would be a beast at 4 if we had a true power 5, but we don't. We could run a 3-2 offense with Ready at 1, Chicken at 3, and Ware at the 4 and be a legitimate team... but we don't have that luxury. If Malik comes in, we only need another big and I think it's the Juco who is hurt. He's Hansbrough good... not as polished, but he's the same type of player. Can score with his back to the basket Can score with either hand. Him and Ware grinding down low would be sick with Malik at the 2. If that happens next year, we may have the biggest win% improvement in the power five from this year to next. This year is a wash...
