I have found, after years at SPS and now here, that the "introductory" post is automatic cause for raised suspicion. Just register and jump right in to casual conversation and 9 times out of 10 you won't catch any flack. Once the introductory post is made, it can take a while to get rid of the cross hair on your back though.

That's pretty much it. If you make an introductory thread, the target on your back gets quite large.

Excellent analysis. He's an engineer for sure. Probably a manager. Only a manager would type a billeted list in Word and paste it to a message board.

Hello Gentlemen, first post on Elite Dawgs! I have been visiting for a while and just reading the posts. I like the group and I especially like MSU baseball talk. Outside of MSU: I am an Atlanta Brave and Chicago Bear fan. I am also a fan of MSU women's sports, softball, soccer, and volleyball.

Dog related facts about me:

• I am a second generation dog alumnus
• I was present, in the DNF grandstand, for the Master?s Grand Slam
• I lost my mind when we failed to score on the LSU goal line in 2009
• I lost my mind when refs robbed us of Vick Ballards TD at Auburn and later Relf came short
• I lost my mind when refs gave BYU a victory in Starkville
• I lost my mind when Jay Barker's fumble was ruled a forward pass...this call was as pivotal to MSU's fortunes as the Brady tuck against Oakland
• I don?t understand why MSU is currently letting Ole Miss recruit the heck out of St Louis metro area without contest (all sports)
• I was sitting in the student section last time we beat LSU, never thought it would be this long
• My MSU engineering education has served me well, no complaints. Even done work in Ivy League schools, MSU prepared me like a Champ

I disagree. If someone came in and just started talking about things then if they didn't agree with the masses then they would be tabbed a troll or bear. Especially if they had anything negative to say about the coaches or program. Besides isn't it kind of rude to just start talking without introducing yourself? Just saying.

That's why your first few posts are ones to not go against the grain. It's not rude on message boards. This isn't a meet and greet. You won't offend anyone by diving right in. By posting an introductory post you open yourself up to immediate ridicule rather than just entering conversation about the teams we all love.

Since we are going into Dr House territory now....Some of you guys are awesome, like the Lemurs in Madagascar, scared of the foosa. I have to watch that damn movie at least one per week.

(1) Post started at 7pm, kids made it impossible.
(2) Started over in word
(3) Put one kid down for the night, read another a bed time story, came back and forgot about it
(4) Started writing again, wife asked if this was a pervert site with sports fans discussing strip joints and the like, logged out again and lost thought pattern
(5) Showed the wife the great baseball talk that has drawn me here for a while - thanks Todd-4-State and MsStateBaseball
(6) Finished and finally posted

Other Dr House stuff
(1) For the young-men, you are no longer an Engineer in title after 30...but you remain one mentally but you adopt PPT and bullet formats
(2) My big bulldog memories never include OM, if you are true maroon, do our big moments ever include them?
(3) Trolls come in during the height of recruiting season when the venal kids are all in-play
(4) I guess I could be a Soviet style troll that comes in years ahead of an actual need and then will strike when Moscow needs it...like in the book "the company"
