Really? I figured he would come back if he fell out of the top 4 rounds bc he has the potential to be a top 2 rounder. I honestly think he should be picked no later than 2nd round

We aren't projecting Stovall as as catcher.

He will finish his career barring injury, as one of the best we've seen play catcher at MSU and will be a very high draft pick.
I agree. Collins will prove any naysayers wrong (and there are only a few naysayers anyway, they're fools). Besides, he may not ever have to catch a Lindgren type pitcher ever again. A guy with that much of a lack of control, combined with the movement all of his pitches had.....I bet that was tough as hell.

I'm not down on him. I think he can be good. As u said he can hit and he can throw! But as u said he can't block. But u also left out he is a poor receiver. Misses a lot of simple pitches.

I'm not a naysayer. I think he has great upside. But at this point, I repeat, at this point, he's a poor defensive catcher. The bright side is he got his feet wet and will only get better.

If you take away Lindgren, he was not a "poor defensive catcher" though. Not in my opinion anyway. And I look at arm as part of defense, and he may have been the best in the SEC when it came to arm this year...as a freshman.

Well, until we sign another one that's where he is going to be as of now. I could see second base- but I don't think we can say where he is going to be right now until our class fills out.
At any rate, it furthers the point that we needed a JUCO catcher.

Lindgren's slider is not a simple pitch to catch.

He struggled w fitts big time too. But the part about the arm is true, he shit down the running game. People really quit trying. Which is huge.

exactly! Blocking up is only part of defensive side of catching.
