If the ball hit him it's a dead ball. If he swung at it he's out. After it hit him it doesn't matter if it gets by the catcher.

Didn't hear from the announcers that it hit him but obviously if it did hit him Pirtle wouldn't have taken off.

3-0 State going to T6.
Preston Brown has pitched very well, and Britton continues to play great defense.

Does not matter if he swung he is out whether hit him or not

Piggies starting to put the hammer down, 3 runs in the 3rd courtesy of bunting.

Yeah, I did know about that rule. Unfortunately Jim and Bart didn't say anything about Pirtle getting hit by the pitch.

Our announcers are idiots.

Woodruff coming in to pitch the 6th. Interesting move- hopefully it doesn't have anything to do with Brown's shoulder.

We're trying not to be totally predictable when we bunt. So, we let them throw two pitches and tried to lull them into thinking we weren't going to bunt, and then laid it down on the third pitch. With Demarcus's speed, there is a chance that we will get him on base. Worst case scenario, we get runners on second and third and one out.
We also got two runs out of the inning.

We don't want to overwork him coming off of an injury. I'm sure they had a pitch count for him before the game and then after that, he was getting pulled no matter what.

Riiiiiiiiiiiiight. We squared around each time. There was no lulling.
Worst case scenario is a popup bunt
We could have gotten more.

Why not put in Bracewell? Woodruff is a big time risk to put in this situation.

Woody's done. He just couldn't find the strike zone. Lindgren coming in on a 2-2 count with a runner on 1st and nobody out.
