We really don't. It's an RPI killer and ends up being either HR Derby or we struggle to adjust to a 71 mph fastball and can't score for 6 innings.

One of these per season is plenty. We certainly don't need 3 of them. Not only do they drag down the RPI they are a total waste of time because they don't help us get better. We might as well play a high school team. USM doesn't play any SWAC games.

These games allow us to play the whole team midweek which does make us better and keeps players happy with some playing time. Who gives a shit what the Nasty Bunch does? They dont pay like we do- thats why SWAC's play the SEC teams- for the money.

We are better off playing MLB teams in Spring Training. If the boys get run-ruled by the Atlanta Braves that won't factor in RPI but the development is awesome. Even playing A and AA is better than SWAC. Doesn't Memphis have a Cardinals farm club.
