Correction. A certain group misunderstands what is currently law (present a valid form of identification to vote - as in passport, driver's license, etc.) and thinks they are solving a problem that doesn't exist (widespread instances of voter fraud due to folks voting without a valid identification process) when really the solution they posit is more restrictive on American freedom (we need a specific voter ID for voting). It then inevitably turns into the racist / woke name calling as copying an idea from the 1930s era with which we are trying to recreate often does.

It ends with this type of idiotic post being made, not because C34 himself is an idiot mind you, but because we bastardize the misunderstanding so much that both sides think the other side has to be an idiot to support their view:

If you truly believe that there is no requirement to properly identify yourself in our voting process, you'd be an idiot not to support Voter ID.
If you truly believe that there is no widespread abuse of our voting identification process, you'd be an idiot to support efforts to restrict voter identification methods.

We can all agree with both of those statements - yet somehow Republicans and Democrats have divided themselves over those two statements. And so they dunk on each other.
