9 Games in - 9 wins
Don't look up what year we last did this (2015).
But this Oak guy has us winning the games we would blow under Lemo and blowing out the games we'd let creep back into competitiveness. Doesn't **** around with leaving folks in.
I could do 15 years of this.

We're also blowing teams out midweek when we need to. That means something

Lemon never had this level of talent. Neither did Polk or Cohen. We are in rare air

If I show up in Hattiesburg and we're 12-0 I'm going to be so ****ing insufferable to the mustard buzzard brigade

Yea I don't really know the last time we had this much KNOWN talent. Like yes we had some unknown guys step up in 13, 16, and 21 but we have guys who have done it at this level and done it at this level VERY WELL. Get Teel going and you are going to legit have 5 OFs to choose from at any time. Get Woodson going and you'll have 3 options in the MIF. We know how many options we have on the mound.
I mean this is as complete a team as we've ever had this early in the year.

We shall see with these next games coming up. This weekend will tell us a lot. If we can come out of this weekend winners, then look out because we will be sniffing a season like 21

This team is much more talented than 21. But it does lack some experience and can it develop that special mojo? We shall see. It takes more than talent to win it all. It also takes luck and being hot at the right time.

LSU lost to McNeese tonight.

In other games being played tonight USM beat Bama at Pete Trailer Park, Arkansas State beat Arkansas, Arizona State beat Oklahoma. There is some serious talent out there.

USM is for real. I watched some of that one and they looked really good. We're going to have to bring our A game to beat them.
Arkansas, like LSU, always has these weird mid week head scratchers.
ASU is really good. We're going to have our hands full on Friday.

I think that should say they need their A game to beat Us!

We need to bring our A game to win the next 4 games. We play 4 teams that will most likely be in the field of 64.

They will. Playing us in Hattiesburg is their Super Bowl every year.

We should never play them at Hardy High in any sport. We just help prop them up financially my entire life as they price gouge on ticket prices and try to limit tickets to State fans. This is always their "Super Bowl" and really just another game to us.
Regarding football, when we had to take those terrible trips to play them in Jackson, not only was the game their "Super Bowl", their style of play often led to injuries to our players. It was then back to SEC play for us and playing nobodies for them.
Drop them in all sports ASAP, unless the games are in Starkville, long overdue.

You will get no arguments from me. I think it's asinine to play them in Hattiesburg in any sport. Much less one of the big 3.

ASU on Friday morning at 11 AM. They play Oklahoma in Norman again tonight. After beating the Sooners 15-3 last night I hope they play 16 innings tonight and use 10 pitchers!
Va. Tech lost big to Rutgers and then beat them in 2 one run games.
UCLA lost again last night to SDSU.
I expect us to go 2-1 this weekend, but State could lose 2 or win all 3. Huge weekend.

Too early to know just how good we are.
McPherson hasn't shown he can be a dominant Friday guy, and Foster has sucked on Sundays.
The left side of our infield has struggled to field it. We are average at catcher.
And we've played nobody with a pulse. The arms we've seen have largely sucked.
None of that is to say we can't be very good.

We're going to know A LOT about our team Tuesday night about 10 PM. 3 of these next 4 are NCAAT teams and if you told me right now that they all hosted, it wouldn't shock me. We're about to take a major step up in competition.
