I’m a little confused by Miller’s change. When he was in 10th grade, his dad was posting videos of him throwing his change in bullpen sessions and it was falling away from a RH batter like a typical change from a lefty. Tonight, it looked like a curve and the announcers were calling it a slider. Maybe he has changed it but that would be surprising b/c it was a weapon back then.

I've talked a lot about Bauer being a wild card but the truth is Miller, Beliveau, and Rhodes are all in the same boat. If they can develop and adjust quickly they are going to be relief weapons for us in June. That group, along with Gleason who is a RS freshman are our core group for the next 2-3 years. Really good pitching depth and we should add at least 2-3 more elite guys in August from our current recruiting class.

Whatever changes have been made are partially a credit to Justin Parker and Joe Savino in the pitching lab. When the tech is used properly, a pitcher can develop an arsenal that fits them the best and makes them their best version of themselves. I say partially because I am sure that Miller had also been working with a private coach as well and I don't know what Parker developed and what someone else did.

To me, it looks like Miller is throwing a curveball because it seem to have that curveball hump in it but sometimes it's actually another pitch depending on what the pitcher calls it.

We have had 7 baserunning mistakes in 6 games. BOC obviously doesn’t coach baserunning and that makes him shitty because that’s what our posters said about Lemon

At least a couple of our baserunning mistakes were really close plays at third base where a runner was thrown out by really good throws. It sucks but it is what it is and our guys have to get there. At the same time those mistakes happen sometimes.

I do think watching this team this year and our team the last few years there are noticeably fewer mistakes and everything is a lot cleaner. There may very well be the same amount of baserunning mistakes as last year- I wouldn't be surprised if there are less honestly, but the fact of the matter is there are without question much fewer mistakes on defense and our catching is 100% better than last year. Our situational hitting is much more fundamentally sound, and we play small ball much cleaner than before. Our approach at the plate is a lot better and it's rare to see anyone trying to do too much in any given situation. Also, the pitching staff management has been 100% better as well. We typically aren't leaving guys out to rot as much and we are starting to see some roles defined within the staff which hasn't really happened the past four seasons.

I think Lemonis will without question coach somewhere again. He's not a bad coach. But he's not elite. I think he would be perfect for a mid major in many ways because he is a good recruiter and I think in a situation where he doesn't have the pressure that he had at MSU he could thrive. And as far as mid majors go there aren't many coaches that have a NC on their resume'. If he is at The Citadel they aren't going to care as much if their defense isn't on point until halfway through their conference season. Especially when they are playing people like South Carolina and Clemson early who they aren't expected to beat anyway.

It's also different at a mid major because if he can retain guys and keep them out of the portal he may be able to build some teams like Mike Kinnison did at Delta State that are junior and senior laden he could probably make some regionals.

More a combination of things that made posters say that. But leave it to you to fit your narrative.

Considering we?ve committed 2 errors in 6 games, I?d say we?re making much fewer mistakes. I?m not taking shots but it?s safe to say we would not be 6-0 right now last year.

No. He does in fact have a back injury. It?s not believed to be serious, and he could be back soon, maybe as soon as today or tomorrow. But I assure you that he didn?t miss the last 3 games because he was ?fine?. Oak has addressed this publicly, and I don?t believe Oak is lying to us. Oak stated on Wednesday night: "He's day to day. He tweaked his back in practice on Monday. We're working him back. I don't know when he's gonna be available. We're being told it's nothing serious. He'll take some swings tomorrow. He's just been in treatment the last two days. I expect him to be back in a short period of time.". Maybe you think Oak is lying. But they have acknowledged a minor tweaking of his back that doesn?t appear to be serious.

The second pitch most kids are taught now is a straight change up, very safe pitch for an arm. He now added a very nice slider, which is very tight and can be a wipeout pitch for a lefty. Now that he is progressing and here learning more about finger placement, pressure on the ball and refining things in the pitching lab Todd has spoken about.

Well I talked to Noah Thursday and he said feels fine. He wanted to play on Friday.

So he never had an injury and Oak sat him 3 games for nothing, then lied to us? Noah told my daughter on Tuesday that he tweaked his back but didn’t think it was anything serious. They know each other fairly well. Noah told her he was getting treatment. But he acknowledged he hurt his back. I don’t think this is a conspiracy. I think Noah legitimately had a minor tweaking of the back. I wouldn’t be shocked to see him play today.

Oak acknowledged the back injury to Sullivan last night when asked about Noah’s health: “Noah is doing great. He took batting practice today for the first time, felt really good, so just want to see how he gets up tomorrow morning. How he's moving around tomorrow. I would think if there is not any lingering effects after a full BP today, I would imagine he'll be in there tomorrow.”

So he did have a legitimate and minor injury. He wasn’t “fine”, and he had legit reason to sit 3 games. It’s not a conspiracy or a benching.

Well, this is the most talent on a team we have ever had. Now we have freshmen and Sophs that need experience/playing time to get where they will shine- but from a pure talent standppoint? We've never had this before

I think Lemonis would do really well at The Citadel or any military academy. From everything I've gathered, he was pretty bad at enforcing discipline, but in 2019 and 2021 when our rosters were full of players who were disciplined on their own (and/or had seniors who enforced it on them), he won a lot.

At a military academy, he should be able to bring in players who don't need it from him. I think he could be a regular Regional team at The Citadel, the type of 3 seed that no host ever wants to get.

We were charged 2 errors. We booted 3 balls yesterday. Two from Woodson and one Ace just whiffed on. Only one of those was an error.

Our scorekeeping continues to amaze me.
