What I want to See Midweek Baseball Edition

I believe this is our only two game midweek of the year if I am not mistaken. I do wish the NCAA would allow more games so we could have a few more of these. Anyway.

I want to see how Duke Stone looks starting. I don't think he is a relief pitcher and maybe it's because I'm not real big on fastball change up guys being relief pitchers. I just have a feeling he is a better pitcher starting but we'll see. We need to get Tyler Pitzer in a game even if it's Alcorn. Speaking of Alcorn I want to see William Kirk start that game and I'm hoping we can get most of the freshmen in. Especially Jack Bauer and Parker Rhodes because those are the two that are most likely help us this year. Would not be surprised if Tanner Beliveau comes in and looks good as well. Yes, we need to take our time with guys like Bauer but at some point we have to also figure out if they can help us or not. Against Troy I would like to see us go Stone, Pitzer, Sweeney, Davis, and Webb. Get Dane Burns a clean inning either against Alcorn or Troy.

I want to see Kevin Milewski get a hit and get off the mat. Hopefully we'll use two catchers against Alcorn.

I want to see Drew Wyers play some. We need to see what he can do. I think Ryder Woodson is going to be fine long term but we need to see if Wyers can help us. I want to see Reed Stallman healthy.

As far as the outfield goes I want to see Jacob Parker and Peter Mershon get some AB's and play some at least against Alcorn. I want to see Nunnalee and Aiden Teel get going. I think they're close. Milewski is really the only new guy I'm somewhat worried about. But I think he will be fine.

Most of all I want to see us win. We lost to Troy last year and they acted like they won the World Series. I want to piss in their Cheerios this year and I hope the bar b que they get from the LFL gives them gas after the game.

Re: Troy: Skylar is a good coach, even though they lost 2/3 this past weekend to Mercer.

On T&L they made a great point. The top 4 hitters from the weekend were Reese, Stallman, Frei, and I think Sullivan. Point being, all 4 were guys who had played in Dudy Noble before. I think these guys will settle in.

Personally I think too much is being made of that. Nunnalee and Teel took some good at bats and Woodson did some productive things at times. Milewski was really the only one that was consistently chasing. We also hit a lot of balls hard at people.

Yeah the new guys will settle in. It can be tough for people to get used to playing at DNF. I remember the ND pitcher in G3 2021 almost pissing himself on the mound. You could see the moment was too big for him and we started teeing off. Even when its your own fans- playing front of 12K can be more stressful than playing in front of 1,500.

Also, Troy is expected to pitch two SEC transfers tonight. They're going all in again.

And Hadad brought up the point that the starting pitchers were transfers. Hitting will come around. Takes a few real games to get their timing down/
