Y?all can message all the excuses you want. The athletic dept. was recovering from Cohen. Our coach died. We don?t have nil. We don?t have enough billionaires. We don?t have all out fan support. Fan base should give more. NEVER say anything negative about our athletic dept. I could go on and on.
The bottom line is wins and losses and we have been losing way too much. And the buck stops at Selmon?s desk. Period! End of discussion.
Until our administration opts for hiring real football coaches and getting SEC caliber players then Selmon is a failure.
Edited to say that is why these administrators are paid to figure this out.
You are making some very simplistic assumptions here. Problem is it’s not that simple and so many more people and variables are involved. If it was as simple as you postulate then it would be simple to solve and we wouldn’t be where we are. This is why context is crucial and you’re missing it.

I politely disagree it is that simple. Winning cures our problems. Winning excites the fan base thus more people are willing to give more and if money is the only cure then explain Texas, Texas Tech and Indiana.

A billionaire oil tycoon funded Texas Tech?s roster.
Mark Cuban wrote a check to Indiana athletics.
Texas has more billionaire alumni than any other school in the country, and were in the playoff last year.
What on earth are you even talking about?

Excellent post DownwardDawg. My only hope from their success is that it motivates our leadership and fanbase to work and strategize even harder to improve and better MSU and nothing else! I have witnessed, experienced and achieved in my business world that increased competition has only made me and my business work harder and become better!

Tech was in the playoff. I’m a bit confused by this one. Texas was a mid big ten school and, since they’ve been allowed to pay people, they have done pretty well in the big bad SEC as well.

Really didn?t care that they won or if they would have lost.
My life doesn?t revolve around Ole Miss sports. Sorry brother.

This is all I want. When we hired Mullen that's what changed their trajectory. They fired Nutt and hired the cheater Hugh because we were winning too much. It's competition that drives change.
