Could have been in the works for a while given our struggles the last third of the year. We will probably never know.

How would Ole Miss fans react if they replaced Kiffin with Coach O? Some would say he did well at LSU and won a NC. Some would point out that he had issues winning at Ole Miss and only won because of Joe Burrow. It's easy to pull in the same direction when you are 11-1 and your schedule is easy.

The incident with Bookie has been confirmed in this thread. You can believe it or not. The mistake I made was taking what happened in the locker room into the public and I should not have done that. That doesn't change what happened and it was more than one player that issues with Arnett.
Ole miss is 11-1 and in the CFP and about to play in the second round because their draw is a joke?AND THEY HIRED THEIR DC as full time HC because kiffin wouldn?t commit to then and they believed he would stay anyway. And their fan base is lapping it up like it was the greatest thing that ever happened to their program. They?re even talkin about how weis coming back is totally different than kiffin being allowed to coach when in reality it?s the exact same. They?re morons but they read the talkin points and stay in line.

Yeah. It was definitely out of left field.

Just an observation. It seems like Lebby locks in on one guy for DC whether it's Durkin or Pry and if it doesn't work out it seems like he panics and does something like this or hire Hutzler. I just wish he was a little more thorough and be open to more than one guy.

I kind of wonder if Arnett just contacted Lebby and said hey if you have an opening I'll take it. Could have been that simple. I don't really know the whole story yet.

We had fans that were the same with Arnett as head coach after we were 9-4. Remember Barbay Bombs? I had fans telling me that Barbay was better than Leach. LOL. Come to think of it one of them was the guy that started this damn thread.

Here's what makes me feel a little bit better about this situation. It appears as if it was Lebby acting on his own and not MSU. That tells me that Arnett probably wasn't pushed onto us by some booster. And there are rumors that MSU has talked to Arnett about the situation last time and is trying to put some guardrails into place to prevent what happened last time with boosters having too much influence. I don't know that MSU can eliminate that but at least it seems like they are aware of the potential there and they likely made it clear that the leash is short.

I bet Arnett reached out to Lebby. I remember reading a story about he and his family loved Starkville. Ithink he bought a farm and had cows and horse. I don’t hate this hire, he was ok as DC. Good players make good coaches.

If OM hired O has a DL coach, which is what he has had success at, their fans would love it.

    He still owns it.
