Anybody know points allowed under Arnett
I have asked AI and it keeps giving the same results for every year. I would love to know

From 2020-22 ranked top 5 in SEC in: total defense, lowest percentage of big plays allowed, points per possession allowed, fewest rushing TDs and yards allowed, among others.

I'm actually shocked we made the hire, but in a good way. Usually State is too prideful to go back and make a move like this that should benefit us.

What was the point per game in conference play.
I saw that with all games, 23 points per.

Yes, but those are pretty damn good. Look, we all agree he was a terrible HC, but he was a damn good DC. Leach loved him and thought the world of him. Keenum's dumbass put him in that position. He was a post turtle. You know he didn't belong up there on that post but some dumbass put him up there. I bet our defense next season is light years better.

Arnett was great as our DC. If we come close to these numbers this upcoming season, we will have a real shot at 7-8 wins.

Hand-waving but State's ideal:
Defense like 2022 rating
KT takes a step forward in the passing game
Hit on OL in the portal
Hit on a top WR pull from the portal
That team threatens for the playoffs.
Now is that realistic to expect? No. But you can at least see what vision we're going for. Who we keep through the portal window and add will be obviously be the deciding factors on the hype meter - but there is vision. And kudos to all folks involved if we're really setting aside egos like this.

So, about where Armstrong has been at Houston.
A 45th ranked defense this year would have meant an 8 win season and a decent bowl game.
