I gotta say I'm impressed with how the staff did today! Several players with national offers pulled in and signed. Nice!

Lebby kept reiterating that there were a few more that they're hopeful to get in the boat over the next couple days. Anyone have a list of potentials?

I don't think recruiting rankings are the end all be all, so I'm not freaking out, but our avg per recruit is dead last in the sec. And we're close to 1 behind #15 (Kentucky), which is a good bit.

That's all I was trying to say and everyone jumped all over me. We did good considering the circumstances, but if you sort rankings by average player rating we are #44 in the country. I'm glad we got who we got, they're Dawgs and I'll pull for them, but I want to be realistic on what we really accomplished compared to other SEC teams because in case you didn't notice that's who we can't seem to beat lately.

I know JJ Hill and Womack. Don?t know anyone else. I have to assume/hope we are focusing most of our resources on the portal.

There are several flips we made today both in state and out of state with very impressive offer sheets. Still took a lot of lower ranked three stars with very limited offers. Maybe some will be that "diamond in the rough". Hail State! Keep Flipping!

Picked up Edge Chris Addison, who flipped from Michigan State to the real MSU. High 3 star.

That?s good. I just can?t get excited about high school prospects anymore unless they are high 4 stars or better. Any development player cant help next season and could end up transferring before contributing.

I?m amazed at the number of MC graduates and even USM folks that don?t claim their alma mater but rather om.. Sort of like a Mississippi poor man's Bama sidewalk fan......

I have a question for the guys with connections.
With us picking up so many recruits today.. did we take a big chunk out of the money for the transfer portal? Is there money dedicated just for high school recruiting? After reading some posts about high school recruiting it got me to thinking. Maybe some of the posters are right on getting so many guys you have to develop. Especially in todays game in which they can just up and transfer.
This is a genuine question with no ill will. I'm happy with what Lebby and the guys did today! Just trying to learn a little bit.

We need bodies, ones that can play at every position. This looks like a roster flip, if we are bringing in 20 plus from the portal that’s nearly 50 new players. Bring them in, if they can get it done keep them if not you have to process them. It’s a shitty business but it’s the way things are now.

Yep. You have to think some are going to process themselves through the portal and some are going to get processed and asked to find new homes. No re-homing fees for the current dogs though so there is that!

Yes sir I completely understand that. Definitely need more depth and I see guys have already jumped in the portal. I'm sure they were told to do that.
I just didn't know if we used a bunch of money to get these guys today. We definitely have to utilize the portal.

One thing about it is you have to remember the players we process out we aren't paying for anymore and that frees up a lot of NIL capital depending on how many get processed out.

32 players on the current roster are moving on. If Whitson can?t get a medical redshirt it will be 33. Thst is counting the current portal entrants. More will be processed and more will choose to portal themselves.
I can easily see 50 holes needing to be filled.
31 signees to date. At least 2 more possible by Friday. So the portal is gonna be between 16 and 25 to round us out to 105.

So how exactly does that work? Is their money just cut off immediately?
