As much as I can't stand those delusional morons.....

We should totally combine the two programs and have a damn powerhouse SEC program that the whole state can get behind. It would rival LSU in crowd size and profile.

I know it will never happen for probably tons of reasons, primarily ego's on both sides....but it is THE only way either program ever sees the mountain top.

100%. A combined Mississippi college athletic program playing in Jackson would be a national power in every sport.

I have said it for years. We would have incredible resources, a future 100,000 capacity stadium. Basically every sport we would start to dominate. Combine our recruiting fights. Overall it would be more economically feasible for the state.

edit: there are level headed ole miss boosters that say the same. At lest the ones that see the bigger picture and future of sports.

Doesn't have to be in Jackson. I'd be willing to give the ego maniacs Oxford location if it means giving me a winner to cheer for in this state

Of course we should. And throw in Southern MS too... a state with a population less than 3MM should have 1 major college. Period.

Not to mention there is true passion in these fan bases. You combine their best with our best from a fans, facilities, support standpoint, it would be a force.
And imagine the freaking baseball team.

    Oak coaches baseball
    Beard basketball

New coach for football that both agrees on....

    Whew, what a monster

I?ve said this 1000 times and people think I?m crazy. We are too small of a state in population and resources to have two thriving P4 programs, much less in the SEC. Have one athletic department and keep both schools on the academic side. Over the last 15 years, we would have multiple FB national championships.

100% agree, could have been done as late at the 90s. No hope of that in today's age.

What about combing universities, come up with a new name and keep both campuses as is, OM get's football and WBB and MSU gets MBB and Baseball.

If only the confederate sob’s would have allowed ag and engineering to be added to the university this would all be a moot point. But alas here we are.

A combined school with medicine, dentistry, veterinarian, engineering, architecture, and law would be an amazing opportunity for the State

That’s why LSU is who they are. They don’t compete with anybody in their state

I agree, but 1 major college doesn't include USM. They aren't a major college.
