When their media is coming out saying that they have nothing ready if he stays, that tells what you need to know. Especially after Kiffin went after Ben Garrett yesterday for comments he made. Unless Lane had a change of heart last night or early in this morning, he is gone.
There was a quote by Skip Bayless in the SMU doc on ESPN. “When the local media turns against you, you better watch out.” Lane is not stupid. He did not care who he pissed off walking out the door yesterday because he did not have to speak to them anymore.

I to believe he is gone. But if he were to stay and win a playoff game or two he could stand in the grove on the stage whip it out, shake it at the crowd with one hand while flipping them off the other yelling 17 all you inbred shitheads and they would have him back in a second.

I think the opposite. He is a textbook narcissist. He is staying.
And by this, I mean he wants admiration and attention. He has to be the center of attention at all times.

True.
FWIW, my in-law who is a mid-level donor to OM with some connections says it's over: lane is headed to lsu. He just texted me

Yeah, the PR job by him and the Sexton team has been magnificent. They have positioned this for maximum exposure. All the talk all day yesterday was Lane,Lane,Lane and it’s going to be the same for the next two days. Perfect timing for everything.

He could stand on KC's desk and piss all over him and he would ask for seconds....

Saban is on Gameday live right now basically laying it out for anyone who listens carefully. He is gone.

Saban said LSU>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>Ole Miss
And if Lane called Saban for advice that's what he told him.

Any Lane news should be landing soon if they are continuing to play the PR game properly.

Lane is trying to hold off on the decision til the last possible second. Was told this morning that Keith and Boyce are going to make the decision for him if he has not decided by this afternoon/early evening. The thought is that he is trying to maximize his screen time and steal some of the spotlight from Auburn/Bama tonight.

Make the choice for him? What does that mean exactly?

That will track perfectly for the Lane camp. More Maximum exposure for the brand.

It means they will tell you are not coaching another day without signing this extension.

Yeah they aren?t that stupid. $36 million to a guy that is ready to leave on his own? No way!

How can they make a decision for him if he's under contract? They have no grounds to terminate him for cause.

Fox Sports is saying sources at LSU fully expect Lane Kiffin to take the LSU job.

What if that has been his plan the whole time? Surely they won't fire him. There's no way.
But IF they do.. Lane comes out shining brighter than a diamond!

Would never ever happen. For 36 million reasons.
Lane is doing them a favor telling them something today.

Make no mistake, Lane only cares about Lane when it is all said and done. His decision will be based solely on him and his ego. He wants a NC and he wants to be at one of the premier places where he can get that. To his credit, he has been very patient over the last few years and what would pull him away has opened. He seems to have matured in a few areas while still being a middle schooler in others. If he leaves OM, they will take a MAJOR step back and lots of players will junior to the portal. OM knows this will be devastating if he leaves. Fans tired of him will love him immediately if he were to stay.
